yhea... can't shake the "how many times i need to play this game". as in it resembles any generic cock of doody type of scenario. Vomiting inducing visuals aside, atleast BLOPS2 has something going for it.

Huh, actually not as bad as I thought. Graphics, sound, and physics are quite well done, despite the copy paste gameplay of every shooter for the last 5 years.

Seriously, would it kill a developer to take this exact same engine, and create a paced, tactical shooter with one hit kills, squad mate skills, open world style battlefields, and a variety of ways to approach the situations? I know most people love the excitement of linear, corridor shooters with fast paced shootemup gameplay and explosive set pieces, but I would think at this point, some of those people HAVE To be getting tired of the cookie cutter gameplay.........right?..........RIGHT????

It's not so much the linearity or cinematic approach to gameplay that is the issue, i'm fine with it, hell, i PREFER it. It's the sameyness of the themes, locations, situations, objectives and the goals and the familiar set peices. How many times can we expect to enjoy shooting guys while in a high speed boat chase? Or shooting guys in a thermal vision air support role...we've seen everything this game is doing before, MANY times before....it's all lost it's appeal for me

You want a military tactical shooter? I dont even want military. Use this awesome engine, but make something friggin unique with it. Or set it in a different time period, or location, or planet, or dimention.... I physically and mentally cannot handle another game that looks as fucking uninspired as this, i just can't...

It's like, why havnt we gotten a republic commando sequel yet? Or something similar? It was a first person shooter, centred around shooting guys in the face, it was fast paced, it was cinematic, it was linear, scripted...but at least it wasnt another brown modern warfare themed shooter.

Embarassing level design, slow-mo, aim assist, regenerating health, blood on screen and all the COD things you can get. Welcome to gaming 2012, pal.

You mean play an old game i've already played in desperation? Nah. I'd rather the industry stop trying to copy each other down to a tea. If a blowjob is required, so be it ;P

Once it was WW2, people got sick and tired, now its modern, people are sick of it.

People dont know wtf they want anymore.

I for one think having 3 franchises doing modern is good for those who want it and devs are good at it.
And leave the rest of devs go for more creative way, sci fi.

Though I dont mind if one of these franchises like BF, MoH and COd would go heavy sci fi.

I dont see why there even needs to be "trends" why did EVERYONE have to do WW2. Why does EVERYONE have to do modern warfare? Why can't devs just make good games across all themes and settings. I got sick and tired of WW2 last gen. But i'd welcome one now when every FPS is fucking set in the god damn same place, using the same weapons, doing the same old shit. BORING...

EA - "hello, sir. Would you like some scripts? How about some scripts with your scripts if you like your scripts that is? We also have a nice side dish of scripts with some nice infinite health regeneration, just in case your scripts get a bit too harsh. What's that? You want infinite ammo, quick reloads and predicable baddies for you to cut down in swaths with added scripts? Well, you can have that too. That'll be 40 big ones, thank you very much, sir. Have a nice scripted good time to you."

Tried the first one and dug it, but the second was pretty poorly optimized, and nothing my PC could come close to playing. Also loved Op Flashpoint before Codies bought the series, stabbed it in the face, crapped on it's grave and banged its sister (yes I am little bitter).

After seeing how stunning ARMA III looks though, I will definitely be upgrading my PC for it once it hits. ARMA is honestly the ONLY game series out there that retains any semblance of a tactical, realistic military simulation. RIP OP: FP, R6, GR, SC, BIA, etc. etc. etc......
