Sony conference was boring. Microsoft was more entertaing at least. I agree with some gaming sites that nintendo won.

Depends on what you are looking for.
Yeah I think Sony won with their exclusive contents and features (upload videos directly to youtube is great!)...etc. IMO.

Like I said, depends on what you were looking for, I dont believe in the whole general "this company won e3" statement.

i felt like MS's was super well paced, but it was almost entirely one big advert for a load of games i'll be buying on PS4.

world premier if tomb raider sequel - cool, i'll get that on PS4
world premier withcher 3 gameplay - cool, i'll get that on PS4
world premier AC unity gameplay - cool, i'll get that on PS4
it was 95% that through the whole thing. so i guess i need to give it props for getting me excited...sadly it got me excited for the competing platform, which i'm pretty sure wasn't their intention...lol

@Korndog

Yeah I definitely agree, the best games they showed off was multiplatform games. So why should i buy that platform when i already own a console that will have them and pretty much be the better version of them...PS4.
If anything, i am glad they showed them, we got to see great gameplay from those titles, Witcher 3 was the only one for me to care alot for, and then Dragon Age Inquisition (dont remember if they showed it or not).

Yeah...tbh other than uncharted, i cant remember any new first party announcements coming from sonys?..oh, i guess LBP, which had a demo like the sony conference...went on for too long.

I did like the whole 'letters' set up of sonys though...far better than the cut-aways to american 'celebs' i've never heard of during the MS one.

MS conference was good..all decent and impressive games. Got to see gameplay for the first time of fable, which was slightly disappointing i thought. Crackdown announced. More gameplay of Sunset. Halo 5 teaser, something else i cant remember the name of...forza horizon didnt show gameplay which was disappointing. That 'cult classic' beat'em up from the killer instinct guys could be decent...so yeah, dont really get Korns complaint MS one just being a big advert for multiplatforms when i believe it had more first party announced and shown than sony?...trouble is, the exciting stuff isnt hitting till next year, maybe next 2 years.

I think nintendo's conference won in a way for me. The Robot chicken stuff was spot on. The self awareness and humour was there that was lacking from the other two. More new first party were shown. An actual surprise. And from the glmpse i saw...that zelda game looked better than anything shown on the new consoles.

Out of all 3 i was left fancying a Wii-U more. But i'm not crazy..of course i'll go for a PS4

the trouble was that the best games, and legit demo's from MS where litterally ALL multiplat (unity, witcher 3) and the surprising reveals like tomb raider where coming to other platforms. sunset overdrive looked great, but we'd seen it prior to E3, which put a dampener on things. they really needed halo 5 there demo'd on stage imo. it's been a year since it's CGi announcement so it seems reasonable to expect a live demo now tbh (same goes for sony's shadow of the beast...where the hell was that?). it was difficult getting excited by platinums stylistically horrible CGi trailer, the beyond niche and kinda awful looking phantom dust (yet another CGi trailer). and even crackdown, a game i'm psyched for is hard to get excited about when it's coming out in 2016...20 fucking 16. what was the point in even revealing that yet? they're taking too many pages out of the "old sony" book.

for me sony won becasue of a few things, namely LBP3 (unexpected), let it die (unexpected), uncharted 4 (unexpected), bloodborne (leaked but still fucking awesome to get confirmation)...fucking grim fandango!!!. no-one expected that...NO ONE!. gameplay of the order and a release date of feb. far cry 3 gameplay and the news you can play co-op without the other person needing the game...GTAV reveal...and that's what i want. legit surprises. MS had non bar their indie offerings. everything was multiplatform, expected (platinums game), leaked (crackdown, phantom dust). even their closing game was just a CGi trailer of a game that we knew was going to be there. now, that's not entirely their fault, granted. but at least when sony demo'd multiplats like destiny, or far cry i know i'm going to get the best version of that game on consoles if i buy on PS4. MS can't make that claim. they're showing games i can get better version of elsewhere. and there lies the problem with not only the conference but MS's position in general. unless you've already bought into the Xbone, their offerings arn't convincing anyone or will take too long to convince anyone (2016 looks like the year). and knowing it won't even have a decent bank of exclusives untill friggin 2016 just makes it even more depressing.

but then i knew that. i knew even IF MS managed to reveal a bollock load of awesome exclusives (which they didn't anyway imo) the time it would take to actually get them wouldn't get me buying the console now...what's the point in buying a console based on games coming in 2 years?

oh, and the conker/project spark cock tease ligit pissed me off...basically saying "you want a new conker? then make it yourself douchebags".

While waching Microsoft, I was thinking the same thing KORN, about multis. I'll get that on PS4. The Grim Fandango as you said, totally unexpected. It just seems like Sony is taking no prisoners. So far their plan is focused.

no GT7 announcement means im still not all that exited for the PS4, there are no games for the XB1 that interest me at all apart from crackdown which when my cousin told me about it i thought id have to get an XB1 just for that game but alas it's not coming out till 2016 and no doubt with this modern age of game slips it'll end up coming out in 2017 just like when watchdogs and drive club's release dates slipped, for me ill stick with what ive got which is no slouch playing far cry 3 and crysis 3 at 3840x2160 (4k) and many future titles at higher resolutions/frame rates than the next gen consoles, while many console gamers want to play down PC gamers "don't forget where the technology came from in your next gen consoles".

To me Sony won not because of any great surprise. They won because MS didn't deliver and gave us what they really had in exclusivity.....Not much. Yeah, most of the real AAA games are multiplatform so I can see why MS would choose to highlight those but their exclusives will excite their base but not much else.

Yes, some here are clearly bias no matter how much they try to explain. Nonetheless, the Sony exclusives didn't excite as well since apart from Uncharted which we all expected, none of those other exclusive games are consider AAA games or potential system sellers based on what they showed. I highly doubt people will be flocking to buy a PS4 for LBP3 and Grim Fandango. The Order 1866 looked like a possibility until we saw the onfloor demo. Apart from graphics, it failed to impress. Still have hope but not much now that we have seen it before, during and after E3.

Then what I really can't stand is the cheesy exclusivity that both MS and Sony does. MS putting their silly logo at the bottom claiming exclusive content or first on their console. Really? Now Sony with the FarCry coop with one without a game. Or GTAIV exclusive content. Give me a break people. That stuff will make me buy one game over the other if I have both consoles but it will not make most get one console over the other. Just dumb.

E3 is the biggest show and we have come to expect to see the biggest AAA games. But over the years the CGI vids and lack of gameplay footage by exclusive AAA titles have pretty much left it up to the third parties multiplats. Those are the one's that delivered at this E3 with the likes of Witcher 3, Division, AC Unity, MGPP, Far Cry, Destiny. If any of these were exclusive to one console it would have meant the difference as to who won the show and which console to get.

So since multiplats will most likely be marginally better on the PS4, they are my winner. MS talked a good game leading up to the show but did not deliver any real exclusive AAA system selling title that we got to see real gameplay that would make reconsider all of their goof ups. Sony did the bare minimum since they are already the market leader. Both appealed to their base but neither really impressed.

E3 - Where 3rd party multiplats rocks.

Standout Exclusives:

Xbox One:
Sunset Overdrive
Forza Horizon 2
Gears 4
Halo 5
Fable Legends
Quantum Break
Crackdown

PS4:
The Order 1886
Bloodborne
Uncharted 4
Deep Down
Let It Die
Little Big Planet 3
Several Remastered Titles (Ratchet & Clank, Kingdom Hearts, TLOU, etc.)

I fall towards PS4's exclusives (including the remakes), but it's just a matter of preference people. Each has their own stuff going on and the main games that everyone wants are on both consoles.

LBP3 got a really nice cheer. It coming to PS4 and PS3 saved Sony otherwise this year they have only DC. Having said the Xbone is not having much special. Sunset overdrive and FH2 are their main games I think. Never year though it is going to big.

Good catch. Adding Master chief collection as a remaster and the rest as solid exclusives for Xbox One (though I'm not sure if Phantom Dust is a remaster or completely new).

And also, I intentionally didn't mention indie titles (if anybody was wondering).

Guys,

In all honesty and no fanboyism, I think it was like a Boxing match between the big underdog and the big favorite: when the underdog actually does a good job to stay in there and give the favorite a good fight, peoples minds have the tendency to see a better match from the Underdog than what actually was. I think it did happen the same here: People were so used to see Sony dominating MS in just 30 minutes or so of they're conferences, that this time they're minds had the natural tendency to think MS won. Dont get me wrong, I think MS did a good job, but In reality I still think it was a close "fight" in favor of Sony. People did underestimate some of the great stuff they showed, ill tell you that.

I agree.
MS showed me a bunch of games I'm getting on PS4, it was good to know they look better then what was shown, then they had Halo HD Collection and Dead Rising 3 rerelease
It was also great that Sony conference was pure exclusive games and better looking multiplats with exclusive content, both was still a let down as was 3rd party announcements, kinda curious what they've been doing for 2 years, Capcom has obviously took all this development time Dead Rising 3 & Super ultra dead rising 3 arcade remix hyper edition ex plus alpha.
