Video PC PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Some people here have been asking for the video of Mortal Kombat X shown during Sony's conference so here it finally is. The video has been encoded at 30 fps since the original one was according to Miguel.

LOL at your post..stunning i think NOT

you can clearly see it looks not much better than the last game and thats all because the stupid dev decided to dump this game on last gen consoles too.

I will get the next game MAYBE if they ake it for ps4 and xbox one only

I have to say it again. Only two characters on the scene with some background and open world games look so much better than this. Massively disappointed!

@lilmarkuk

Oh please go look at the gamespot demo showing off the game. The effects, character and background detail are clearly above the last game. Stop being mad that its on last gen as well.

But You can´t deny, it looks veeeeeeery bad in comparison with other big PS4 titles. I saw the pictures of that Bug Bitch a while ago and I couldn´t believe how low poly her eyes are. I don´t get it. Environment is so poor. That flat ground is just blowing my mind......why or why?

It's cross gen. Last gen being the lead platforms obviously.

OK...I didn´t know that. To be honest, I expected thousand times better fighting games even on PS3, but maybe I´m missing something or there is not that big budget going into fighting games.

See any halfway decent fighting game needs to run at a solid 60 fps to begin with, no drops acceptable. Second, i really don't understand what the f**k you are expecting. This looks quite a lot better than MK9 or the assfest that was Injustice.

Anytone thinking this looks like garbage clearly needs to reassess their expectations of next gen.

If you listen closely in the video you can hear people going "OH!!" every time a special move is done. : \ Too bad this wasn't a direct capture.

--------------
seeing the footage it looks amazing, looking a the screens it still looks good but not like what i was led to believe when i first saw this video. PC version could be the way to go if they include some ultra HD textures and more DX11 features.

keeping this in my cross-hairs if the cut-scenes are switched to real time. MK9's was a disappointment.

I can't agree with You. Look at other games. Huge environments, so much shit going on on the screen and it still runs very solid. This is only about TWO f***ing characters, no demanding physics and one stage (maybe multi-stage). If this should be a jump in graphics, like PS3 version was in comparison with PS2 version, it would be 100% better than this. I'm absolutely sure, the fighting game could be MUCH MUCH more advanced than this. Everyone has different expectations and this totally failed for me.

Yeah, and i'm telling you, change your expectations. They are unreaslistic. This has better lighting, better shaders, higher poly counts, higher texture resolutions, by far more crap shoved in frame at every moment, hopefully runs at 1080 and 60 fps. What more are you expecting? A Genie to pop out and give you 3 wishes?

Like your stupid ass thinking of last gen fighters, what are you expecting them to miraculously do better? Yeah, they can have a bit higher poly counts per character, a bit higher resolution on the textures (and they all do), but just because it's "only" two characters and one stage, that doesn't magically make your xbox 360 fart rainbows. For fucks sake, the shaders will still be the same and the demand for solid 60 fps still limit what they can do.

Just sounds like ignorance to me, but obviously you are welcome to be disappointed all you want. Just saying, your expectations seem very unrealistic. If you want to whine about a fighter looking like garbage, might i direct you towards Killer Instinct? There's a mediocre looking game.

I can't have a constructive argument? I just explained to you why your thinking is completely backwards. Yeah, sure i use some hyperbole but it's not like i'm just calling names.

360 and PS3 fighters all have higher quality assets than you'd find in other genres, especially ones that need more stuff on screen. The differences are smaller because we can use things like spec maps and normal maps to cover for a lot of that, especially when you don't need to see the characters close up. A lot of games have different LoDs for characters, depending on whether it's a cutscene or not and so forth. Fighters don't have that luxury as the characters are fairly close to the camera constantly. Also, if you look at the wire frames of characters (something like DoA5 springs to mind), you'll see that they have crazy dense meshes instead of normal maps and stuff like that. And yet again, a fighter being a fighter does not amgically give the hardware the ability to use shaders and stuff that it doesn't support.

Also no, rather few games on last gen systems ran at 60 FPS. Many of them even sub 30 at times. Because having a shiny looking game is all that matters. Not that i'm particularly keen on defending this as a game, MK is not a very good fighter, but there's nothing poor about the graphics judging from this trailer. It's not completely mind blowing, but i really have yet to see a "next gen" game that really is. I suppose Uncharted 4 is looking pretty sweet, but i'm waiting to see what it looks like when you actually play. Again, characters are likely going to be LoDed and so forth.

Yet another argument would be that the leap between generations always looks smaller at the beginning of the life cycle. I'm sure that once games start using more modern effects and stuff, and as studios get more familliar with new workflows, we are going to get better looking games. But let's look back at some PS3 lauch titles, eh? Here is a shot of Genji, and i'd say that i think it's pretty much comparable to some of the better looking games on the PS2, save for the resolutions and some obviously higher polycounts and stuff. But it's not that huge night and day difference that you seem to be looking for; http://chungkingangel.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/...

Again, my only real point was that you should be realistic in your expectations. Don't get swept up by the retard hype train.

Hmm MK9 was not a killer in looks so I am not sure why ppl are so upset. This look decent. I think KI on xbone was 720p which is unacceptable imo this is at least 1080p so will look much sharper
