The screens were almost all at a 1280x1024 resolution, so maybe it's the PC version.
I don't expect much more than a quick port from the PS2 version anyway.

I hate it when devs are lazy and just put carbon copy PS2 games on 360. Its so damn lazy.
I hate it when people moan when they already knew it was going to be a port in the first place.
I wouldn't call it lazy either, If they were lazy it wouldn't even be a game.
Looks fine to me, I will be buying it for sure.
Its people like you jolli that buy the games that some people think (No way) that will ensure 360 japanese dev support continues :) There are many 360 japanese titles I'll support, but I couldn't bring myself to do it for this one while contemplating all the other games I plan to get.
Looks good to me too (it is an MMO) but i'm no graphics whore.
If they keep the cheating out? I'll be wasting many a night on this.
I would also say that SEGA are throwing a fair bit of support the 360's way.
I bet this title plays much better then most other Japanese developed titles
heading our way.
Agreeing with Rox, Jolli and Op (Snap Srackle and Pop?) on this.
The question also becomes - if you wanna play PSU, do you hunt down a PS2 with a broadband adapter and play on its somewhat rubbish online service? Do you buy this obviously console-oriented game for your PC?
Or do you want to play it with your regular circle of friends on a smashing online service with the option of HD widescreen?
As I've always been saying about the ports, if you truly want the game in the first place, regardless of how *cheap* a port it's still the sharpest version around and plays on what's probably your most commonly used console, and thus bound to have all the cables set up for some disc tray slapping action. (as opposed to a behind the TV cable yanking expedition)

Well im more interested in gameplay than graphics, most japanese games aren't all that good in the graphics department but i feel they are more gameplay/story driven.
I don't think a few people like myself who buy odd ball Japanese games will ensure Japanese dev support. (not that i have that in mind when i buy games anyway :P)

I agree that i want to see more Japanese games that make use of the console but i'm used to PS2 graphics and pretty much anything that is ported to the 360 is going to look better in some form or another and thats good enough for me for the time being.
I don't think we can truely say we are in the next gen until the other 2 systems are out anyway.
What you guys gotta understand is that they are designing a game that will run equally on all 3 systems (although i heard the x360 version might be a seperate server... god only knows why....). So they are busy creating the game, they are not going to either hire a 2nd time to create a beautiful X360 version, or delay its release just to make it prettier. Plus any fan of PSO on xbox will know that its gameplay that counts, not the graphics, which were pretty bad on xbox (for an xbox game).

Sorry Jollipop, in some way I'm on Ferretwave side, as if your going to pay more on an game that looks no different to it's PS2 cousin, I think it's a slap in the face, just to bring you HD and some Achievements, I mean what about those who don't have HDTV sets?. If it came in at a lower price like the Table Tennis game then that would be fine

Fair enough if you don't have a HD set, but what if you don't have a PS2 either (sold it or never had one to begin with) then it makes sense to get this version doesn't it .. ?
Besides i know i would rather pay the same price for the same game as the PS2 version with 720p and FSAA, the jaggies on the PS2 hurt my eyes... :P
I will probably end up buying this game too. I loved PSO on DC.
I haven't really been following dev of this though so this might be silly question, but what happened to the Mags? I can't see them :\

Ok, I'm with you on that one, jaggies aren't a pretty sight, I've got myself a HDTV and I'm sure it'would look quite nice at 720p. I loved Phantasy Star 2 on the Megadrive, so if the offline game is as compelling as the Phantasy Star games then it gets my vote. And I do have lost long feeling for PSO, it was a great game untill the hackers got into. it.
Archaos, there aren't any Mags this time. Have a look here, click on FAQ for your answers:
i havent played a PSO game yet, couple of friends have and their responses have varied. But i learned along time ago, not to judge games just on graphics, but by gameplay. So i might just give this one a try
i played the crap out of pso on xbox im definitely getting this no matter what :D
cant wait to hack the s#it out of it too :P
you guys remember the freezing online and the game deleting everything not "equiped" on yer inventory? thats why i had to hack on it to begin with, to get backups of my hard to find stuff :D
thats how it all started for me :)
i cant wait for this game to come out!! wooohooooooo!!
I think thats why the offline version will be totally separated from the online game, because of this.
Played this for hours on the Dreamcast, but as I said when the hackers got onto it and started PKing people it then became annoying, dupes were fine for a bit though :D

But anyways the screens look pretty nice. I've been waiting for a sequel for many years.
