Video Xbox One

While waiting for our own videos from the showfloor in a few hours, here is the gameplay of Sunset Overdrive as filmed yesterday at Microsoft's press conference.

This looks great. Really like the artstyle.

Off topic, but could you get some Project CARs ps4 footage also when on the show floor? Wondering if they managed to get it to 60fps. :D

I like the graphics etc, but what is the point of the game. Because it just looks like you run around shooting anything. Gets boring after awhile.

That's what I"m worried about too. I still don't understand what the game is really about. It looks fun, but what kind of progression is there for example?

There's a full campaign story with cutscenes and voice dialogue between either a male or female main character and other characters or factions the player may come across during the game.

You can actually also get specific missions with different objectives from various people or groups within the city, such as survivors in hiding and other characters with different needs or motivations. Factions can cause trouble in the world, such as taking over certain locations, and you'll have to reach certain strategic points at those locations to try and stop what they're doing. The rollercoaster location shown at E3 is one such example of a specific faction in the game world causing trouble.

The enemies, which are plentiful, also have a few tricks up their sleeves, and are surprisingly better equipped to challenge you than you might think. Even some of the larger enemies can climb up onto things you would think they shouldn't be able to climb up on to come after you. There are even enemies likely as agile as the player is.

The focus on jumping, rail grinding or wall running from one place to the next to avoid enemies and keep up your skill meter and raise your combat effectiveness gives the game a much different, more frantic feel than you might think. It also plays faster than it looks.
