PC Xbox 360 PS3

Snoopers had to go so I have the privilege to be the one to put online the third and final video from our long Far Cry 2 E3 demo walkthrough, and as usually it's quite impressive visually. And in case you missed them: Part 1, Part 2.

Nice landing indeed :)
At the moment where character starts running around with RPG , takes ammo for it, in the bacground you can hear : " Shiping all platforms , -something something- , user -something- maps upload and play" . At the SONY E3 conference there was this clip of various devs talking how PS3 is good and stuff, there was FarCry2 dev that was saying something like , thx to Blu-ray we don't have to wory and ect. and then he says something about user creted content.
So my question is : will you be able to create something on PC and play that on consoles or there will be somekind of redactor on console versions ? does any one know about this user stuff on consoles ???

I asked the same over at N4G, and thought why is blu-ray needed for mods unless they put the editor on the disk like farcry on pc, but it wouldn't take much room though so I'm as puzzled as you.

Yes, there will be a map maker, similar to those in the previous xbox Farcry game. You'll be able to construct your own 1km square(I think) map. Also if you create a match with your custom map on your harddrive, anyone who joins will download it.

They haven't really talked about multiplayer and map maker yet, but Hopefully it's solid.

WOO! Links to the others! ha.

Looks great. I am really looking forward to the vehicle chases, they look excellent.
And visually it looks great. Not a fan of the way the people look, but its still impressive. Nice to see some reflections in water in a console game too =)

I think he's Brazilian, and got out of prison or something. But yeah, wasn't so clear on his dialogue.

That buddy scene was awesome, I wonder him killing the dudes was scripted, or that he actually got the same dudes you died against. I'm so hyped!

well 1km sounds enough for some custom fun, I hope the editor will be something big in options of terain, grass, weather and ect. editing options, not constricted.

Sounds like what microsoft did last year when it had all the devs say how great the 360 was after sony revealed way too much of their hand and owned E3'07... which is why they had hardly anything new to show or announce this year and got owned themselves by microsoft.

The map editor is going to be on all versions by the way.. so i don't know why blue ray would be of benefit there when the other 2 versions are just dvd... unless ofcourse its coming on 2 dvd discs...

Game looks great graphically. Not really seen much of the AI yet though. And it will be interesting to see how the story structure works in it.

The developers demo'd the most stable version, which happened to be the 360 one. It just seems to be the case that the 360 versions of games are a little way ahead of the PS3 versions for most devs.

What is bugging me a bit about these videos, is that I am not seeing destructible environments. RPG's are being launched and bombs strapped to vehicles are being blown up next to buildings and nothing is breaking apart. Just some window dressing(debris tossed into the air) but no actual destruction.

This is my most anticipated game of the fall and winter, but I cant help to see the discrepancies in the developers testimony of environmental destruction and the actual videos of gameplay.

This game is looking really impressive and a notable improvement on the attrocious, lazy port that was Far Cry Instrincts Predator on the 360... eurgh, I want to vomit every time I recall THAT game. Ahem.

Anyway, love the huge open environments and the lack of loading points in this new game. Also the framerate is very slick and the lighting is terrific. I'm definitely considering buying it now...

Uh, no: It's a known FACT that the PS3 version was being demo'd in playable form as well, as shown in a couple low-quality Youtube vids out there.

No need to spread misinformation just to take a veiled shot at the PS3, my friend.

The truth is that the dev tools for the 360 is supposedly far easier to work with, hence the 360 version is often the one being made first, hence the one shown at previews etc. No need to get all anal and upset about that, fellow ps3 fanboys. Who cares? Got something to proove? ;p

As for what PlumbDrumb said, while i agree a bit. You also have to take a look at our real world.. There are plenty of places where grass can grow as high as a man is tall. Especially in the deep wilds of africa.
The 3cm nicely trimmed grass you see in your local park is not a valid representation of how wild grass grows and looks m8 :)

This game is being developed on the PC. The 360 architecture is much closer to that of a PC so it makes sense for the 360 version to be ahead at this point. There is not that much more to it than that.

I think by and large, devs have gotten up to speed with PS3 development enough that the days or crap PS3 ports are over. Good new for PS3 owners and not bad news for anyone else.

So can we talk about the game now please?

It's not like I don't consider that kind of thing before getting in a tit about it.
Just one look at that grass and you can tell it's not more than 2 feet tall.

...
