The amount of QTEs give me a bad Ninja Blade vibe, though the core fighting system seems to be still intact

What's weird is that the Gametrailer videos had tons and tons of QTE's in them, this one however has barely any. (and only in place where it makes sense)

That's because when Ryu's arm glows you can make that special obliteration.... you can make his arm glow fighting better :D

It's good to see Xbox version running too (GT is full of PS3 videos)... however there's 2 things i don't like:

They've become Ninja Gaiden into Ninja Blade 2: too many QTE
Even when blood level keeps high, gore level has been reduced a lot (no more stage painted in blood and no more decapitations).

Nice looking anyway, seems that the camera hasn't been fixed yet.

I assumed and was worried that NG3 would turn out to be garbage after Itagaki quit/got fired. Thus far, imo, I'm right. ENTIRELY too many QTEs as said before by many. Not even a little bit too many. I saw more QTEs in one level than should be in the entire game =/

I was thinking maybe they were in there as a bit of a tutorial on how to do some of the things like sliding under objects and what not, but man, that shit got very distracting and really seemed to hinder the flow of the game.

Only with very little obliteration compared to NG2.
Even when blood level keeps high, gore level has been reduced a lot (no more stage painted in blood and no more decapitations).
I wish I could turn off the part of my brain that finds a super ninja chopping dudes' limbs off incredibly cool, but I can't. Sorry NG3, you lost a whole ton of cool.

I fucking hate QTEs. It was awful in god of war and just about every other action game. The only game to do it somewhat right was darksiders b/c you usually just pushed one button once to see a nice animation, not a stupid series of buttons that completely pull you out of the experience.

If ninja gaiden is going to be QTE heavy it has officially fallen from king of the genre IMO. sucks b/c I loved ninja gaiden black more than any action game in history. fuck...

QT = FAIL. Unimpressive graphics. Arcade gameplay which I've never liked about NG. This is an easily forgettable game for me.

This is the only video I seen online that shows NG3 still has that core combat still attached.
Its more NG Black level and not crazy NG2 lol

Whoever was playing, thank you for showing some variations considering the rest of videos I seen was bullshit, this made me actually like NG3 for once since reveal.

The motion QTEs are probably tutorial, I dont know.
I hate them, in ALL games.

But the QTE during combat is something I expected.
Hayashi says some enemies will resist your kill move so you have to put extra force into it, so a quick SAME button will do so, with that I dont mind.
God of War is garbage in QTE. Same kill moves but nonsense random buttons that is just trial and error.
Still, in the long run, it will get boring and tiresome.
Let us turn it off!

That being said, the attacks we seen here I am guessing its Dragon Sword level 1, not enough advanced moves.
I think I heard this is the first level.

The UT is pretty nice, you can either auto activate it by keep killing in momentum or charge it normally.
Though I do not understand where the orbs are? weird.
But the UT is boring after a while considering we wont see those long unique combos anymore :(

Good to see Ryu is still badass.

One thing that kills it for me is the fact Hayashi is focusing on sword attacks in this one and the way a sword kills.
Now I LOVE Dragon Sword and swords in general, so for me its not a problem. I used Dragon Sword 99% of the time in all NG games.
But I hope they add like cleavers, dual swords to mix it up.

Now if Hayashi doesnt add decapitation in the final game (demo is probably censored like NGS2 demos were) I will be extremely pissed off.
They add such a combat system were it involves blood and rage then they wont add that? sigh

Anyways, this video resurrected my interest again, good to see the combat is attached.

*stupid QTE, die!*

PS. Ryu does stealth attacks and climbing? pisses me off.
I like that big leap kill from roofs though.

Sigma 2 is easily the worst NG game ever. They forced you to battle ridiculously dumbed down enemies and then by the end of the game you were left with more gold essence than you knew what to do with. In this game they got rid of shops completely. Can you imagine how pathetically casual it has to be for that to work out?

Only good thing coming from that game was the combat and gore, but the overal content and polishness was garbage!

This one seems to be worse, but then again, game is 30% complete and isnt out until Q1 2012.
I hate what they have done with it, but like some stuff they added.

Love and hate situation for me.

Combat is still there but it feels a step down with no limbs flying, also this is E3 if it were TGS I would believe that limbs were cut off because of the rating but there is no point in doing that in E3, so I guess dismemberment is gone.

Such a shame.

Raptor...it was the japanese version of NGS2 that was censored with no decapitation lol.

I do hope they show it, it would be fucked up if they wont.

But why in E3?

There is absolutly no point whatsoever unless Hayashi wants to get annoyed by the same question over and over about that stuff.

Its seems kinda silly to do that.

No ALL, just stick to NinjaFortress!

Remember NGS2 interview when they revealed Rachel.
He said "I was told Rachel was very famous in NG fans here in GT forums".

Thing is, I do think he looks for it, but he is looking at the WRONG place.

Like many, i'm not liking the QTE's at all. I mean, i wouldn't even like a single QTE in NG, but that's just me, some games have proven that having few QTEs in some parts of an action game can make it truly epic (though easy).

What really bothers me though is that it looks really boring to play, even when you forget there are QTEs at all. It's more NGB than NG2 like Sath said, but it's missing some coolness that NGB had. I Love NGB more than i love NG2, but for some reason i can't seem to like this game.

I hope you are right, actually i think you are. But it also means that is very likely that in later parts of the game having lots of QTE will be mandatory (or abusable).

Really hope Team Ninja fix this. Or plain go back to NG2 and scratch the ''2'' and put a ''3'' instead with some new levels.

oh yeah cant wait to play this bad boy :) this will be the best NG yet. all the haters get lost and play your shitty NG2 or NGB. i wont say anything about the qtes because they dont exsist and the people who think so really should turn on their brain and look again or do you wanna tell me using the doge move to slide under a truck is a qte lol.

Nobody in here is a hater. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Besides, we're all hoping for an awesome game, it's just that from what has been shown, it looks to be a couple steps down from previous NG games.
