Oh, those textures look so low res and blurry. Why do these screens look worse than before? Nico's head is the wrong shape and size, yadda yadda yadda! Blah Blah.

Other than that, pic 4 looks amazing.

The gameplay elements they have been talking about seem incredibly epic. If this game lives up to what I'm hearing, all other games before this will be instantly obsolete.

I find when I am playing GTA the last thing on my mind are the graphics. The game is so good at sucking you in, I just don't care so much about the visuals.

Good screenies nonetheless, It honestly looks fine. Especially considering the type of game this is.

The 3rd screen is awesome. The graphics are decent but the natural motion is what is going to give me a rage'n vankerstein

The textures... Ugh. But then again, none of the GTA's were graphical showcases so this shouldn't matter. As long as it holds a steady framerate and there are no major bugs, I should be fine.

Its better looking for its generation then any other GTA game so stop your whining, and the engine wasn't built for close up stuff, GTA camera's are back far enough that this won't look terribly bad, especially when in motion. And as long as the visuals are decent and the gameplay is spot on, who cares!

I think, for a GTA title... it looks gorgeous! GTA has never been the benchmark for graphics. It woujld be impossible to get better gfx (at this stage at least) on a huge sandbox game like this. After the complex Europhia engine is working overdrive, crowd AI, animations, draw distance, texture budget, size of partially loaded (streamed) city we can't expect it 2 look better.

After reading the IGN and CVG previews they said that visually they were in awe. This I believe is the game as a whole, in motion. With a living, breathing city around you it will probably leave u gobsmacked

Saints Row looked pretty darn good, especially considering it was a 1st gen 360 game. The textures were lacking in places, but it was made up for with the physics and particle effects. The explosions looked very nice :)

Screenshots don't do the game justice though, and I'm pretty sure GTA is suffering from that same problem. The trailers make it look a lot nicer than these shots.

The lighting and shadows in Saints Row were amazing, for being the type of open ended game it was.

hmmm btw does anyone know if you can buy/change outfits, or go to the gym in this? Cause that was one of my favorite things in San Anreas and Saints Row, customizing the character. I really hope they didnt take a step backwards and get rid of those options that were in San Anreas.

tharts debatable, a lot of people prefer GTA3 over the others and i personally prefer vice city due to the setting, time period, soundteack, characters etc etc.

san andreas may have been the biggest, and had the most stuff to do, but its probably my least fave of the lot.

Yeah but, every GTA game since, GTA1 was like that. The gameplay is still intact and wonderful, so in reality you already know what you are getting.
Thats why the graphics matter to me, because the only thing you can be surprised by in a GTA game is how it looks, and obviously new fun-features like ragdoll physics etc etc.

But we all KNOW the gameplay is gonna be as good as every GTA always is, so the only thing worth discussing is the graphics :)

^Fair enough.

Of course when you are talking about an upcoming game, most of the time all you can do is talk about the graphics.

I'm one of those gamers who really likes to take the time to appreciate a games art. In GTA:SA I could just drive from one end of the map to the other, taking in the atmosphere.
So I suppose deep down I would love better graphics in GTA, but what I see here is more than good enough. IMO.

I liked Vice City the best too, what a great game.

This looks amazing for a GTA game end of story.
