i loved lost and damned, but i've been playing gay tony and i really disslike it, i dont know if it's becasue i'm a bit sick of liberty city, or whether i dont like the more "crazy" missions. whatever it is its boring me more then entertaining me.

luis is largely unlikable, as are the people he hangs out with (except for gay tony himself) the more "GTA of old" missions feel weird due to the more physics based nature of the new style GTA, so base jumping just feel wrong, almost like you're falling through treacle. on the plus side, it has a radio station called vice city which is about as awsome as you can get. other then that it's a bit rubbish imo.

People have Just cause 2 and are expecting soon Read Dead and Crackdown later.

all of those games play in vastly different ways, the only common ground between them is that they're open world.

this engine is AWFUL on PC, it drops frame rate for no reason at all randomly when theres nothing going on at all. IMO R* should ditch this engine and make another one...I think the Just Cause 2 and the Red Faction 3 engines have more potential. This engine I think is a bit ahead of its time, save it for next gen

I sorta got bored of JC2 after playing the hell out of the demo. It's missing that magic that keeps GTA fresh for me. Ya know, plot, humor, mission variety, etc. Even when GTA asks me to do the same things in succession, for some reason it still feels fresh. This has killed many a sandbox game for me. I'm looking forward to picking up the PC version of Episodes from Liberty City eventually. Do GTA4 mods work on it?

RDR seems much better to fit my needs. My Gf loves it though.

You don't make any sense. GTA is not a life simulator. Unless you're a psychopath you don't walk down the street blowing people away with an automatic shotgun.

If you found GTA boring and a waste of time you ain't going to find RDR any more appealing, it will have the same basic gameplay mechanics.

He mentioned that he didn't like the game because it was "reality stuff" that he has all around him which implies life simulator.

My neighborhood has a lot going on,Drugs,gangs and so on. And some of my old Classmates are doing a lot of stuff related with such things.So GTA seems a bit boring to me since I have it out my window !

it's not about the Gameplay Mechanics ,it's more about the setting of the game.
And RDR has for me at least a more interesting one. And not something I can live outside my door.
And the GTA setting exists more or less around me.
I am not psychopath,but a bit out of the norm I would say like many.
No what I mean is there are a lot of people here with guns,Drugs,Neo Nazis,Dealers and so on...and it's all in my neighborhood or people I know how are in this.
So for me it's less interesting doing those things like in GTA ,but the time and place of RDR is much better...at least for me and as far as I can tell the game will be.

Now, if i get the gay tony dlc, and start playing that, will it detect and include the lost and the damned new weapons / vehicles (bikes) as random traffic on the streets, or is that stuff ONLY available when playing a lost and the damned session specifically?
If so, it sucks.

from what i understand weapons and vehicles are exclusive to the DLC episode. the only thing that can transfare back to the original game is the songs...but only if you downloaded the episodes. if you buy them on disc you cant even do that.

it does indeed suck since you get some awesome weapons from both episodes. namely the P90, auto shotgun and 'nade launcher.

Thats bs. I absolutely hated the Lost and The Damned main character (and didnt care much for the story either, but loved the bikes & shotgun.
So basically paid for nothing. *exagerrate, but only a bit* :P

Dont devs understand that we want all the goodies jammed into one nice package, especially in what is at its core, a sandbox mess-around-and-have-fun game.
