Alpha backers of the roguelike space shooter from Rockfish Games can update their build on Steam starting today to dive into the first closed beta of Everspace. It brings two new sectors filled with new asteroids, improved space clouds, new gorgeous sun flares, ocean planets and a new swarm type of enemy. Newcomers who want to participate in the beta can do so by heading to the developer's shop here before July 31.

Commented on 2016-08-01 05:18:59I backed them on KS, but I get why those that didn't back them would be upset if you go back to the days when demos where common place(those that remember). Now I suppose everything comes at a price, which sucks but I get why its this way. This is why there is Steam early access for better or worse.
It may suck for the customer initially but it really does help out these sorts of companies doing their own thing, which ultimately should favor the customer in the end.
Like you said "what a time to live in" :) things sure have changed over the years, I still remember playing Diablo 1 shareware, things sure are a lot different now.
