Images PC Xbox 360 PS3

For a few years, Formula 1 HD games have laid low but Codemasters is about to try to give the fans what they want with F1 2010. It is pretty obvious the EGO engine is at work here, and though some might bitch about the return of the saturated lighting, I'm sure every one will be happy to see that weather effects are included. The game is scheduled for release next September on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

FINALLY.

And those weather effects look like they could be on par with PGR4's - which still has the best rain to grace a game imo

Been waiting to see this game for AGES, looks gorgeous, but im just hoping the game doesnt have that 'orangey' look that Grid had, like it does in picture 1

Certainly looks like Grid doesn't it? Now if we could just get a decent video of it.

Im a big F1 fan but im not really excited for this because lately Codemasters makes one of the worst racing games.

If this has the same stupid physics as Grid and Dirt then it's all over.

From the graphics it looks just like Grid and Dirt with way too much bloom and blur and the really ugly brown filter.

F1 with a brown filter how stupid is that.

That first shot shows a lot of poly edges for a 2010 racing game, especially being a Codemasters game. It's sad these guys had to model the 2009 cars, and then model the 2010 cars, lol.

Anyways, I'm sure the game will look great (even with some questionable art decisions), but I'm not too sure about the gameplay sadly.

You know that feeling you get when Valve announces a new shooter and you just know the gameplay will be great? Well, it's the same feeling here, except you just know the gameplay is going to suck, lol.

this game, due to being an F1 game, is gonna have to really nail the gameplay in order for it to work imo. Of all the race types, I think this genre really requires spot on physics to feel exciting and fun.

Dirt got away with crap physics due to all the other things it did well enough, I can't see this game working like that. I didn't care for Grid much at all so I'm really hoping they don't lean too heavy in the arcade racer side of things.

I wonder if what LEBATO has been saying on the graphics is purely down to the issue of rendering 20+ cars on the same track, with scenery/damage/effects in play at the same time. I suspect some sacrifices will have to be made to get the game running at a decent frame rate. 60FPS is probably out of the (guess) question...

Show us some real thing if not i'm very disapointed with visuals.

Did you play F1 game on PS3 there's the real rain thing. Come on codemasters you can do better.

Some games out there has no need to sacrifice anything for a great gameplay.

Yes that would be nice! If it plays anything like Dirt or Grid I'll pass on this easily.

The first image, clone of GRID... brigth poor for made the funtion of Antialias and effect of the eyes recent up of sleep.
DD

I wait the Demo for make the level of simulation and structure of competitions.

Note: I too wait a dedicated servers mixing the players of Xbox 360, PS 3 and PC. Multipatform with unique servers for more intense competitions with filter of wheel/game controller/keybord.

F1CE has a great look to it. F1 is bright colourful, so was F1CE. GRID was too american, over-saturated, filtered brown (as pic 1 shows), too heavy on post processing and worst of all shocking physics, truly appauling. Arcade handling through and through.

THey need to really revise the EGO engine for this title, for physics, areo and also going on their shots, looks. This brown, bloom look is just not in keeping. On codies forums, everyone says the same thing. Their response: It's sunny.dusk. Why then would you publish a shot such as this if its not indicative of the std lighting.

Anyway, I'm hoping it will turn good. F1CE was great. Like others here, I question whether codematers will put too much arcade into F1.

I love F1CE too. Hope Codies can make it as good if not better. Second pics look nice but I do not like first pic with that yellow filter which I hate in their racing games. Graphics will obviously be great hope gameplay is too.

Just get the handling right codemasters, I can live with any particular style of graphics as I'll be playing it on the PC, so we can hack and tweak the colours and post processing effects. Just make sure it handles realistically.

The formula 3 racing in GRID was my favorite bit, i hope this is a result of them building further on that experience :)

i think the game still holds up well even today visually.

while i think the visual style of the EGO engine works well for something like DiRT, it really doesnt for F1. the rain screenshot looks good becasue the colour pallet is massively desaturated. but in daylight (image 1) it far too blurry, bright and oversaturated. this is something i think F1:CE got right.
