Xbox 360

After three very well done episodes, here comes Lionhead's fourth developer diary on the development of Fable 2. I haven't watched it yet so I can't describe what you'll see, but these videos are usually quite interesting.

Some people are more organic than others?

Was that his way of saying that Ian smokes more green things than he models? LOLOLOL!

The guy's spot on when he says that most [western-developed] next gen games are too grey. And while I appreciate that this game is obviously not grey, I think I shall pass anyway. FF13 and LO, now that's something to look forward to :)

Some passages looked really great, Especially the town's. The guy with the foliage better shape up cause I thought that was one of the lesser things shown. Looks like a hippie and hippies are generally lazy.

LO is pretty damn grey dude.

as for fable 2, looks good. framerate looks horrible but i can understand its still early in development. should be good, glad to see it wont be as painfully linear as the first.

Sadly if this footage was taken in November they're not very far along as I had hopped. the most hopeful bit of scene in the game I saw was the hill fully covered in grass there at the end.... and the radioactive trees.

another great (but very late, lionhead!!) episode
as a huge fable fan, i get that feeling of 'cannot wait' for any scrap of info on this game, much like i used to be with halo 3. i just hope it turns out as good as i hope it will. although to be honest, im taking every single thing they say with a pinch of salt :) i cant wait for episode 5 now lol

no outsider can have a good insight into how far on they are with the game just from this video, unless your actually there working on it. so relax and dont worry, they still have just under a year to polish... i have a feeling graphicly this will be up there with the best, just as fable 1 was at the time

I liked Fable enough that i will pick this one up on day one, i just hope that this games realizes many of the features left out from the original game. Just hearing that the maps design will be more free and open ended is a huge step. Now i just wish for the story to be presented in a more cinematic and dramatic way and also, i wish they would get a bit more diverse voice talents this time around. I'm so freaking sick of the goddamn accent that EVERY f***ing voice has in the original.

That said, looking cool.

The game is looking better than I expected. Nice little diary there.

Great to hear how bordered levels are out in this game. Exploration FTW!

They are creating a beautiful world aren't they.

In Fable I used to just walk through the levels just taking it all in. The graphics in that game are gorgeous. Real cookie cutter stuff but really good all the same.

I wonder if the pub games will be making a return. Oh the hours I wasted on Table Golf >.<

WOW...I'm suitably impressed, with the world design and when he said he'd remove the limitations in the exploration. Because that was my one problem with exploration, it wasn't as vast as Oblivion or other current RPGs.

Graphics look frickin' amazing, only graphic whores (gmulis) would try to compare it. The guy is right, most "next-gen" games don't have colour, they just have BROWNS, GREYS. Basically, MGS 4, CoD 4, Killzone 2, and other games are adopting very limited colour palettes, that they call "post-processing FX". Which is ridiculous.
