Developer Diary PC Xbox 360

Microsoft and Lionhead look like they want to restart the hype machine for Fable 3, strangely forgotten in the middle of all this season releases, with this video called A Call to Action.

in-game it has a great lighting and atmosphere, but why can't they spend more texture work and polygons on the faces? Atleast the Main charactes, jesus almighty they are horrid.

I went into the video thinking you were just another person hell bent on tearing the game apart... but I have to agree. Texturally, it looks like an Xbox game, as well as poly count. The only thing I can think is that the game has 0 loading times, but I cant imagine they changed the engine that much from the last game to allow for open world exploration without loading.

Truthfully, after games like Oblivion(which is 5 years old), there is no excuse for this... especially this long after launch... where developers have had ample time to learn the hardware. On top of that... being a first party developer.

I hope the gameplay makes up for it. The last game was good, but not great. I did like the game world, but felt all of the loading really hurt the immersion. Hopefully, they cut down on the load times and open up the world a bit more.

I am renting the game from Gamefly first, to make sure I get my moneys worth before I jump into buying it. Of course, I may just rent it and send it back. :) I love Gamefly.

Cant see what your moaning about, yes its not exactly 1st party quality but i have seen much worse this gen, i'd say its nothing more or less than average, and average is not awfull.
But the weapons changing instead of the character? does anybody else think"lazy mother fuckers" ?

does the character not change as well? hmmm yeah that is lazy....they're basically making a big deal how your actions change the appearance of your weapon so that it's unique to you...but fable always did that with characters anyway - which seems more unique to me.

I think those above saying it looks like an original xbox game are crazy, and should seek some medical help for their eyes...or simply stop trolling.
The games not stunning looking, but it looks a hell of a lot better visually than most of the rpg's that have hit this gen.

Coming soon to a Wii near you!

I may give it a try eventually. Must be a lot going on in the game causing them to use such textures.

The characters don't change?! Really? I had in mind that as a selling point of Fable, or perhaps, was.

hahaha, all those graphic whores whining, hilarious.

Anyway, I wonder if you can use your save file from Fable 2? That would be cool.

The characters do change. I don't understand why people think they won't. Did you not see the main character get jacked up when he becomes a king in the video? Anyway, the graphics aren't exactly pretty, but if the game is fun, then I can live with it. I thought Fable II was ugly as hell, but it was great fun and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

In some video with Peter, he said you could do something along those lines.

Did you not see it when peter explained that your sword changes.... which indicated two things for me, A: one weapon? B: your weapon changes NOT your char.

visually this thing looks like crap. and if fable 2 is anything to go by, it'll play like crap. i'd be happy if they just returned to the fable 1 style of play, rather then this "accessible for 2 year olds" way of thinking they have going now. i just want the good old fable back, but it doesnt look like it'd going to happen.

Assumption B is an idiotic assumption to make. There has been plenty of shots out showing that you can look more evil over time. So yes, your character does change. But your sword changes as well. As for there only being one weapon, that is false as well judging by the different pre-order weapon bonuses available.
