Any followers of the series care to help me out?

I have a feeling that if the video here made this game look like it belongs on the Wii you should start thinking about upgrading your display to something larger, or clearer. That is unless you're the type that thinks there needs to be exponentially more dirt on everything before it can be 'cool' or good looking.
Also, what has Microsoft's marketing money for Kinect have to do with the budget for Fable? Microsoft is not developing this game, Lionhead is. Fable is a strong xbox franchise and if they aren't focusing on the game as much as they always have don't you think Lionhead would take the game to other platforms? You lose a lot of money when you go exclusive like they do, and that's generally because they are being heavily compensated for their predicted losses for not being on a large chunk of the market etc.
@loosethoughts
Fable is very much about it's humour and style, if you enjoy that from the trailers and think you can appreciate a funny game at times then it's probably for you. That said you should downgrade your pre-order, and get the first game and possibly second game with that money they are not bad :)
I played the original Fable on Xbox, and loved every bit of it.
My second time through Fable, I played the The Lost Chapters (a re-release of the first, with additional content), and loved it as well.
I played Fable 2 on Xbox 360 when it came out a few years back, and with the exception of the very ending of the story (literally the final boss fight), loved every bit of the 30+ hours I spent playing it. I mean, the ending made perfect sense, and in real life is exactly what I would have done, but I was not expecting it to go down that way in a videogame. In hindsight the end was funny as hell, but still at the time . . . other than that, I loved every bit of Fable 2 as I played it.
You know, so many people spend so much time complaining about the Fable series, it's a wonder that every game in the series is a multi-million selling game. I mean, you'd think that with so many people hating on the Fable games, the series would have sold like ass, and Lionhead would have scrapped the series ages ago, and moved on to something else.
But in reality, Fable, right behind the Halo, and Gears of War series, is the third highest grossing franchise on the Xbox platforms. And instead of canning Fable, Microsoft bought the company that makes Fable, and promoted the CEO of Lionhead to the top guy of Microsoft's European operations.
I like to think they did all that, and Fable continues to enjoy so much success, because every game in the series is a stellar gaming experience. But apparently in the world on online gaming forums, that's just me and a handful of other guys who's opinions amount to about as much as a gnat pissing on a fire.
Anyway, despite all the excuses Fable detractors come up with EVERY TIME A FABLE GAME COMES OUT, I'm looking forward to enjoying the third game in the franchise this week. Just got confirmation via text, that my pre-order just shipped a few hours ago, so I am good to go. Not that, that makes up your mind for you; and I really wish there was a demo you could play and decide for yourself. A couple weeks back, there was even a glitch on Xbox.com, where they were accidentally giving away Fable 2 for free for the better part of an entire day - maybe if you had gotten in under that, you could make a more informed decision. All I can say for my part is, I have loved this series from the go, and do not see anything about it that is going to change that any time soon.
That's great that you like Fable, but don't for one second act like the people that talk shit about Fable haven't played the games and are solely anti-Molyneux. I bought both Fables and Fable 2 featured so many missteps, be they unpolished or shallow gameplay elements, that I simply couldn't enjoy it. Others WHO HAVE PLAYED THE GAMES feel the same way.
Notice that I did not say that EVERYONE who hates on Fable feels that way. I stated that too many people who claim to hate Fable, fit that description - which is the prime reason why despite all the claims of "Fable sucks" that you get all over the internets, the series still manages to sell millions of copies every time they bring out a new one.
And while true with any product, there are going to be people who played it and did not like it (as is your case with Fable), the truth still stands that the vast majority of people who hate on each and every Fable game, have never played one. Most get off with simply hating on Peter Molyneux, as if a videogame designer loving to do his job, is the worst thing to happen to humanity Al-Qaeda.
And just because your anecdotal experience differs from the norm, does not change the fact of the norm.
If you do not fit into that norm, then fine. But that is by far no reason on Earth to get all bent out of shape. Consider it a compliment that you do not fit into the norm, state to the world that you are not part of that uninformed group, and get over yourself.
The reason why it's so easy to hate Peter is because his game is made out to be something that it isn't. I enjoyed Fable 1 and didn't mind the features that were lost or didn't make it in because the core game was still a fun action rpg experience. When that happened in Fable 2 and everything became shallow and meaningless, then it became a huge problem.
This has essentially turned into a god game/action rpg bastard child, a very confused one.
Some of the streams that poped up make the game look really good. but thats just me, a chicken chaser.
See the way the real world works, is when a game justifiably sucks enough to make half the internets complain about it at on every thread on every forum and game blog under the sun (as if they have got nothing better to do with their time than harsh on someone else's mellow), the sales numbers from game to game in the series, declines - not sell almost a million and a half more copies. That's not anecdotal, that's reality.
The fact that this very vocal group keep complaining about the game series, yet for some strange reason beyond logic (maybe it's the hobbe magicks) the game series continues to sell more copies with each iteration, seems to me a clear indicator that perhaps most of the detractors in fact have not actually played the game - and simply continue to get off on hating Peter Molyneux. Looking at the sells numbers for the series, it's not like it takes a brain surgeon and a rocket scientist to figure that out.

considering most people loved the first game, it's kinda obvious that the sequel would gain sales, even if it wasnt as good. reviews at the time seemed to think it was a great game too, but how very wrong they where. but untill we played it, how where we to know. people dont buy sequels when they dont like the game that came before it. fable 1 was great, and so people rushed out and bought fable 2. it's sales have no relation to it's quality or how people feel about it. fable 3 SHOULD have less sales since there are a LOT of people who feel the same way as myself, that the second game was a dissapointment. and people who are dissapointed with a game dont usually rush out and buy a sequel.
i bought fable 2 expecting a great game like the first one. (i contributed to fable 2 sales despite not liking it)
i wont be buying fable 3 because fable 2 was terrible. (i wont be contributing to fable 3 sales)
Just sayin...
