May be they will halo 2 as well on 360. There has been gears game and nothing else for 360. Original fable is probably the best fable game, for its time anyways it was great

So I guess they are still supporting the 360..kinda. I'd pick it up but you know it's gonna be stupidly priced. I did like it on the xbox though.

I hope they're not counting this as one of the 12/15? exclusive games.. did they say if the exclusive games would be specifically for xboxone or not? I cant remember.

I've just watched the trailer for Spartan assult. Maybe a new (working) Kinect driven Halo wars could be pretty decent. Although for the love of god i'd much prefer a Black and White 2 from lionhead.. surely a god game would work perfectly for kinect

So when Sony brings out countless Redos for the PS3, they are all about the gamer, but when MS does it to one of the best RPGs of the previous generation they just want money?

This was a good game. I remember playing it on PC. I wanted to get 360 because of this but never did.

Good gfx improvement as well. I think 360 is already compatible with xbox games so I think there was no point to do HD remake before. May be they are making new Fable game so want to release it to generate interest as the series is fading now.

...one of the best RPGs last gen? You say that about the same goddamn console that had KotOR, and that's not mentioning all the good shit that came out on PC and PS2. Shame on you, for calling something so utterly mediocre and bland as Fable great.

Though i have to say, it looks like more than just a quick cashgrab. I mean, they have redone the graphics and everything, so there's at least that. Though i suspect a lot of it is recycled assets form 2 and 3.

First of i never mentioned a console or company.
Second its Lionhead who does a quick cash-in not MS.
Third its not surprising that Lionhead is doing it because they haven't made decent game for a couple of years.

couple of years? make that "since fable 1"

they're remaking it since it's the only good game they made since going on consoles

Lionhead is owned by Microsoft.

But other than that, they're going to have to show more to get me interested. I played the PC version a few years back, and the Xbox version(s) work on 360.

I never said it was the best one of last gen...just ONE OF the best, which it absolutely was. I loved KotOR, I loved Morrowind...but Fable has a special place in my gaming collection. Mediocre it was not. Glad to see they are given it the remake treatment it deserves.

Haha...LH is owned by MS...they can't get any project greenlighted without MS's OK. I'm sure they both wanted to do this. Its the perfect time for this now. Fable has gotten a little complacent...so redoing the first gives gamers who never played it a quality game and hopefully reenergizes them for whatever they have coming next in the series.

It was a good game back then. It is more like action rpg type of game and pretty simple.

Good game but way short of what seemed suggested at the time. This and Halo2 proved the most disappointing time I'd experienced as a gamer since Frontier on Amiga. And yet Fable and Halo2 were still excellent. Halo1 spoiled me I guess to the point that i assumed future greatness from these two games. We never did get that Halo sequel and Fable just never attempted much of the original proposed vision- at least the one in my head

The problem with Fable, the entire series, is that the creators just never understood how to create meaningful interaction between the player and the world. I mean, the dog? Was that a good idea? The marriage thing? Getting kids? You could do it, but there was never any goddamn point to any of it. It was fucking about for the sake of fucking about. That kinda describes the entire franchise to me. Story lacks urgency, characters are boring and uninspired, combat is overly simple and lacks challenge, farting and burping at people is not particularly funny, horrible minigame-QTEs suck, buying houses serves no purpose other than getting money that you are already swimming in, marrying serves no purpose, kids serve no purpose and instead of a goddamn compass you have a retarded dog that digs up condoms.

It's just a clusterfuck of unfinished, halfassed ideas. That said, the first game was by far the most competent of them all, but it still wasn't a very good game by any stretch of the imagination. You can pretty much pick up any Zelda title from A Link To The Past and onward to get a MUCH better experience in every single way.

Completely agree. Although I played through the games and thought they were decent, there wasn't a single aspect that stood out as exceptional. It was like they took a bunch of great ideas and half@ssed every one of them. It wasn't immersive enough to make marriage or kids work. The combat was overly simple. The loot sucked. The balance was way off. The characters were fairly weak. The enemies were boring and repetitive. The game promised to be open, yet was restricted to "exploring" linear paths between small towns.

The only high points were the good versus evil and the story, and even those felt half assed compared to KOTOR. Honestly, people rip on Skyrim for a lot of the useless additions, but at leased I can get immersed enough in the game to make myself interested in everything. Fable just never hooked me.
