This game going F2P was really disappointing... I'll try it out on PC but unless they managed to do what no one else has done, I don't think this one will stick with me. I want a complete package at a set price. Looks beautiful though.

I'm always pissed, when games start to support system, just because the system is new.

i found the core fable games got worse and worse with each one, but i'd take a proper fable 4 over this any day.

Been playing the beta for months - first on Xbox One, and now on Windows 10. The game is fantastic. IMHO, the best game in the Fable series to date. For those of you who have not played the game, if you've gotten a negative opinion about the game, it would have more to do with Microsoft's/Lionhead's lackluster marketing of the game, than the actual game itself. There seems to be a real disconnect between how the game is being marketed, and the actual game itself. Which is a shame, because not only is Fable Legends one of the most gorgeous games that I have ever played, but is also one of the most fun - and I don't even like F2P games.

What they don't tell you, and you do not find out until you actually play the game, is that there is a real, meat and potatoes, RPG in here. They should have just charged $60 for the game, so people who have not played it would stop complaining, and actually give the game a fair shake. Everyone was raving about this game for years, until it was announced to be F2P a few months ago. Which just goes to show you just how easy it is to twist peoples' opinions about damned near anything, without having provided any real information at all. Same game that it has always been, just now F2P. Goes from one of the most sought after upcoming games on the market, to red-headed step-child, and nothing has changed about the game, except how the developers get paid for making it.

I'm pretty sure this was never one of the most sought after games on the market. The F2P announcement just made it even less appealing. People wanted a real fable sequel...not this.

Why? Most of the Fable sequels are terrible. The only reason I'll ever try this is because it's F2P. I think they made a good choice. There's nothing inherently wrong with F2P.

Because free to play means microtransactions, most of time it means pay to win, and ultimately it means not a full fledged title. And i thought fable got worse with every release but i'd still take a real 4th over this. This is like those isometric lara croft games, a random experimentation that i'm sure people enjoy, but it's ultimately a stop gap while they wait for something proper with her name on it.

Its basically MS not having enough faith in the project to sell it at retail. more people will play no doubt about that. But just as many will stop shortly after.

I wonder.. how many F2P games have you played? A lot of the blanket criticism of F2P seems pretty ignorant.

There are loads of great F2P games at this point. They're not all Warframe grind-fests.

So you don't want this. This has nothing to do with what "people" want.

I'm not saying free to play can't work. But most of the time they don't! And i've played enough of them to know that. If they arn't pay to win, mthey're full of microtransactions and feel like a partial game.

And i'd say when a new fable was announced most people, ie, fans of the franchise, were hoping for a real sequel, not some free to play spin off. I don't think that's such a crazy theory. I mean, people wern't exactly happy when they released a kinect exclusive fable either. No-one wants some cheap spin off of franchises they are invested in. Lol
