Xbox 360 PS3 Wii

Electronic Arts presents us for the second times some screenshots from its boxing videogame FaceBreaker (PS3, X360, Wii). Like some of our members noticed in the announcement news, the graphical style seems right out of from Team Fortress 2. I can't wait to see some actual gameplay stuff, like usable techniques, is there a kamehameha or not?

Umm, who's the person who said this looks like TF 2? Looks nothing like TF2, lol! Idiot. This looks more like Ready 2 Rumble's graphical style.

Looks pretty badass, it's from the same guys who did FNR 3, right?

Yeah, the same studio that did FN-R3 is working on this one. I was hoping for FN-R4, but oh well. EA had the best thing ever with the Fight Night series on current gen machines, so to throw it away means one of two things:

Either they`re insanely stupid
or
They know that this game will be `up there` with the best of them.

Either way I would`ve much preferred FN-R4, but until I see this in motion, I`m going to wait before I comment too much. It looks `interesting` so far and I`m remaining optimistic.

I'd just like to see how destructive the face smashing will be, hopefully it will be satisfying.

Their skin is eerily smooth, but I guess that is what they are going for
Also it does look like TF2, or reminiscent of, it's really not a far off statement at all. The game is going for a more animated look just like TF2, and it's hard not to draw the comparison in the shot showing off the grenade/weapon belt
I don't have much faith in this though or most EA original properties. I like EA for their hockey games, and that is about it. Everything else lacks substance

You are aware EA is a huge publisher with SEVERAL studios??? Just cause it's EA does not automatically mean its by the same people as FN3. I get really fed up when people over generalise like that. Stop thinking of EA as a developer and instead educate yourself about the actual development studios owned by EA that actually create the products.

Oh... and what is up with those stupid looking interpretations of boxing boots the black and spanish boxers are wearing. They look like deflated balloon boots. RUBBISH!!!!!

Maybe next time you should think first before you start attacking other people. From the official website:

FaceBreaker is under development at EA Canada and will be released for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360™ video game system from Microsoft and the Wii™ in 2008. Created by the same team that developed the award-winning Fight Night Round 3, FaceBreaker is an over-the-top, arcade boxing world full of new characters and game modes.

In your face.

Rajman, I agree with you and I think the graphics will be taking a hit hence the game will be released on the Wii. Now that I've seen the stuff that can be done with cartoony graphics (Street Fighter4), I'm expecting more. But to answer your question; yes, the guys who developed the Fight Night games are behind this one.

The Ready 2 Rumble games on the Dreamcast still look great and even stand up to some new games. (They ran at 60fps too if I remember correctly?) That pic is tiny and doesn't represent the quality at all. This is a better pic (although it's the original Ready 2 Rumble, not Round 2):

Here are some videos too but they're all in low res:
