Cats who Play released this trailer of their upcoming PC & Xbox 360 game, Fairy Tales: Three Heroes, edited in a very exciting way. I can't stop thinking about the good old Dink Smallwood while watching this, we need more games like this!
Besides looking flat and having some boring environments and animation flaws and so on I'm thinking this could be great as a budget title. And isn't that the direction they're heading for?
The environment is very flat..and going into the fields and walking THROUGH the wheat and grass just showcases that..
A very low budget effort that almost doesn't seem like it was worth it. A little bit of music would have been good. The character walking/strafing animation is really interesting..
The first thing that strikes me about this trailer is how obviously shitty the animation is. It looks like the character took a dump but forgot to pull his pants down first and as a result has to spend the whole game running like some one with a couple of extra chromosomes. Seriously, it looks horrible.
If this is an arcade game, then it looks allright (except for animation), but if its a retail title it looks like a bunch of crap. Also i'm still miffed that they are making some sort of arcady-action thing out of one of the oldest console-rpgs out there.
As for the trailer itself, i like how they show what the game actually looks like but the production values are laughable. "A wild bore!"
Haven't you ever heard of the old Fairy Tales game? I mean, this doesn't look very interesting, but if it plays like the century-old original, then I'm sold ^^

Not exactly the best way of selling a game's environments... It doesn't look really crap, but not great either. Just somewhere in the bland inbetween... But done like this it just comes across as a bit stupid and odd.
I'm a little confused by the character's animations. It appears that he can only walk backwards and strafe from side to side and walk foward. I don't think we'll be able to see the characters front view at all. That's kind of weird in this day and time and just way too oldschool. I do appreciate the cartoony graphics though.

(BTW "An evil area part of a field!!!" Since when was mud and a fallen down tree evil? The budget must be tight as hell.)
