Good stealth requires multiple levels of AI awareness, not just 'totally oblivious' and 'totally aware'. Oh well, game otherwise looks very impressive and I'll be getting it in any case.

I was never really that interested in this game, but now I am. It's looking excellent, and the main things you want in a FPS are present. I'm loving the look and feel of the weapons, and the sound they make is so satisfying and crisp. Looks as if you'll actually enjoy using each individual gun. Graphics are extremely impressive for a console shooter. Comparisons will be drawn against Crysis, but my money is on this for being the better gaming experience. Hopefully there will be a co-op.
Its partly the open environments...
Its strange to explain, but e.g. the missions aren't as challenging as for example in halo which is very "non-open-environmental"
In Halo and other fps, the level-designer force you to use approriate vehicles and weapons which makes the gameplay very varied.
In FC2 it'll be: "Snipe some of the guards, toss few grenades and charge" over and over again, because its the most effective method and you can use it anytime. Becomes boring quickly...
I also miss music. I know its hard for this type of game to use music properly since it never knows when you stealth or seriously kick some ass. (0pen environment again)
UbiSoft Montreal makes the same mistakes they did in FCInstincts which ended up beeing (imo) a pretty shitty game. Unfortunately I'm not graphic-whore enough to blindeye myself...
and most of all i hope the multiplayer is awesome with rank etc.
if its unvaried its because your one of those people that play open games repeatedly the same its like playing soul caliber iv and oly using the X button... if you play and kill some guys using a sniper rifle a few times drop it and grab a hang glider to attack the next location...
stop trying to rush through the game ya the uzi can kill everyone but whats the fun in that? just like oblivion could be beating in 10 hours doesnt mean it was fun for that person.

i've seen footage of the player sniping an anemy in the leg, which attracts guard so you can snipe them, which is pretty cool. but it seem the moment you kill one of them outright they know exactly where you are, will all jump in jeeps, and come kill you. if you was hidden in a bush sniping people they should be in a state of confusion...unless of course these enemy's are bionically enhanced or something.
the lack of music is also a little wieird. its all very well saying "just play your own" but there really should be some in there in the first place. even if its just a quiet background track. the complete silence is a bit strange imo.
its definately a game im going to rent tho, beyond those issues i think it looks great.

In real life, it's very hard to tell where a hidden shooter is from a single shot, but the more he fires the gun, the more accurately you can tell where the shots are coming from. They should just make it so that successive shots enable the enemy AI to narrow down your position, *unless* you move across the map in-between each shot (which you would obviously have to do very stealthily as the enemies would be more alert).
This would make the sniping both more realistic and more fun. As it is now, sniper rifles are a one-shot gimmic.
This video takes place deep in the jungle and with the sun setting. Try playing the game in broad daylight out in the open, and it'll prolly look a lot more vibrant (if not more colorful).
And who the hell counts the lines of a dodgy streamed vid? and as for 1080 being native to the ps3? the ps3 is capable of 1080resolution..just like the 360 is, but it will only be the native resolution if the developers decide on it..which with this game isnt very likely on either console... i'd cross your fingers for it to actually be even 720p on the ps3
A format such as 960x1080 (which is almost exactly the same number of pixels as 1280x720, it doesn't require you to allocate that huge buffer. Although your pixels are then 2x wide which looks pretty damn ugly).
