Xbox 360 PS3 PS2 Xbox

Fight Night Round 3 was in the spotlight during Bill Gates' presentation at the CES in Las Vegas, with a very spectacular but obviously prerecorder fight between Gates and Ballmer. The quality isn't great but it's from a different build than the demo, and considering how slow the news are these days...

The commentary of this guy really s... let's say, is not so good.

But the vid gives a good feeling for the speed the game will have when fighting with the better boxers... unlike the slower fighting in the demo.

BlimBlim, you shoudn't have written that this fight was prerecorded... cause knowing that, I really couldn't take the show (and the commentary!) very serious.
:-D

But I love that game, the series just gets better with every title!

Thanks for this.

Confirms my thoughts that the marketplace demo was a very early build.

The speed of the game looks so much better, very responsive (even though it's pre-recorded).

Punch impacts look more meaty too, even for straights/jabs.

Animation seems more fluid, Ali 'dancing' looks so slick.

Definately a welcome improvement!

even in the low quality u still the excitement of the boxing....that first person view thing was awesome when u could see ali coming at him and his facial animations were spot on.....looks alot faster than that demo vid...or was that just cause blim isn't very good at fighting, or a bit of both haha

I don't think it is pre-recorded. I did at first, but after watching it closely I noticed that there is a part Ballmer stops playing (lowers his hand) and the Frasier guy stops moving, giving Ali the opportunity to land that first stunner. That could have been carefully staged of course but it too natural to be staged. Either way the game looks great.

Having watched it a couple of times now, I'm really surprised they didn't delay the Marketplace demo and release this build instead...

You're right. I watched the vid again and it's not pre-recorded. Btw I think Ballmer shouldn't play such games, or he'll get a heart-attack someday...

If it's not prerecorder then they must have trained quite some time, because I certainly could pull such moves after playing the demo for more than an hour.

I agree BlimBlim.

It was played in realtime, the fight could have been a messy affair with no knockouts or stun punches.

Surely they would not have taken this chance and thus pre-recorded it?

They may have played it before hand and the demo may have been rigged so that more damage comes from the punches.

Offcourse they didn't play for real, using a pre-recorded fight.. To many technical risks involved to do it for real, and Bill & Steve probably suck at the game.. But who cares? It was a nice show, and that's all that mattered.. ;)

it's pre-recorded.... check out the microsoft logo flashing mid-replay towards the end and the fade to black... not a menu. The pause was planned to let the famous fight be re-created.

I'd say i've become pretty good at the game after playing for only about an hour. I beat my friend who is crazy good at FN1 (he says too was too easy). i thought the controls were nice, but the guys did seem to move a little slow. I Still don't think it would have been a real y problem because it was hella fun, but this video is very promising.
