Xbox 360 PS3

This is probably the last trailer from the VGA show, EA Sports Fight Night Round 4, showing a fight between Mike Tyson and Ali.

Cool idea, but would be more exciting if it was in-game footage instead.

FNR3 was a good boxing game, I played the demo a lot, but never bought the full game.. I hope FNR4 will be even better, if it is I might buy it..

FNR3 was great , but i'm curious what will be some of the new features
Because FNR3 was a pretty complete game . Maybe the training was a bit boring after a while...

Looking forward

Why do I get the feeling that, that wasn't too far away from in-game footage..?

0_o Just speculating, because FNR3 looked impressive at the time and that came out around the launch of this big "next-gen" boom.

loved the last one, as long as they dont go down the stupid road, and start adding to much features and drown this game, it should be cool,

all i want is to put ya face in the game, more deeper online modes, and alot more choice of boxers.

Especially when they easily could have just shown some in-game facial deformations again. I still maintain that after playing FNR3, EVERY game should have face ripples!

I too loved FNR3 and am looking forward to this game BIG TIME!!. I just hope that they sort out the collision detection better than the last game and make it a tad more responsive.

The last game felt more like Tekken (slow and boring) but I want it to have a quicker response to your button presses like SF2 etc etc.

Either way I`m buying this game without hesitation. Having the ability to custom build my own boxer yet again and train up hard before taking on my mate with his boxer and beating him to a pulp would be insane!!.

im holding out hat they keep the graphics near CGI quality, speed up the moves a little bit for the faster fighters... and add vision support, i would love if me and my friends could take the front and profile picture and map it onto custom boxers, that would finally give me a reason to pick up the vision...

either way i've already said this is BUY for me as i only demo'd FNR3 ... and i did it for 3 months straight played at work and home with friends constantly... but FNR4 will be a buy

You think that was CGI? You're in for a surprise, and from the look of more recent games, I'm amazed that anyone would think that it was at all. Look at it again. It's clearly using the in game models and graphics, only slightly cleaned up for dramatic effect, sort of like the intro to Fifa 09 and PGR 4. Are you going to tell me the intros to those games weren't in-engine?

You think it wasn't?!? I'm afraid you're the one in for a surprise. I have no doubts the game will look great, after all FNR3 did. But to match the quality of a CGI trailer like this, it will not.

erm...obviously you guys are both right.
A little polished but in-game models, no CGI. Of course you won't see such a camera in-game.

FNR3 already comes very close to matching that CGI, the only thing that stops this from being in game is the animation, the player movements are a little too smooth.

definately CGi. FNR3 looks great but it wasnt anywhere close to what was in that trailer. the crowd alone should be proof enough that it was CGi. but such things as no visible polygons AT ALL kinda gives it away as well. if you think this is anything but a pre-rendered trailer, then your in for some serious dissapointment come release. to say this is even using in-game assets would be like saying the first god of war 3 teaser was in-game. its rediculous.

Anyone that thinks that wasn't CGi is crazy.

Its a DEF buy, i mean, me and my mate have been waiting for Tyson to be in a decent boxing game for years. Was a massive surprise to see him in this, and hopefully Mike can get back on his feet with the money he'll be making money off of this.

The video at the Gamestop convention thing was 1000x better then that VGA nonsense. The CGi in this didn't even look anywhere near as good as FN3's CGi.

FN4 + UFC 2009 = a great year.

I think he's just talking about the boxing. The rest is obviously a mixture of CGI and live action video but I wouldn't be surprised (but would be very impressed!) if the boxing scenes were slightly enhanced in-game graphics. Remember how good FN3 looks and this will be coming out 3 years later.

still not in-game assets. just look at the scene with tyson where it zooms in. there isnt a single angular polygon visible, and EVERY game out there has those, even the best looking ones. its gonna look great come release. but it isnt going to look as clean and perfect as this trailer. but then i wouldnt expect in-game action to look like a pre-renderd clip anyway.

If you can't see polygon edges in this pic then "you should've gone to Specsavers", lol!

Theres a lot of motion blur in that pic plus it's a screenshot from a video so those things can make the edges hard to see. You can probably take a screenshot from a video of another game with great graphics and not be able to see the edges.

Edit: Here we go. Although you can just about see the edges if you look hard enough they're not immediately apparent and Resident Evil 5 has a lot more characters onscreen than a boxing game. (This is the first pic I clicked on too, I'm sure there are even better examples from RE5 or any other good looking game like maybe GOW2.)
