Some brand new and exclusive videos of Final Fantasy XII is certainly one of the best way to start a Playstation media site. So let's all thank the great Maskrider for both these videos, with more to come, especially gameplay, real soon !

will they ever let us see some actual ingame footage? these are very pretty but u can't tell much about the gameplay......also i wonder if there is any chance for this to appear of the x360 in the future, or even ps3, as just a quick port thingo that developers like to do

well I am not a FF fan but I love their concept of pure fantasy and awesome armor and world. The only thing that I hate abouot the FF is that its turn-based and I hate those. If it was like a regular RPG action game that you could control your attacks and such I would most definatily buy a PS3 or PS2 for the game, but unfortunetly its turn-based.

How ever the intro of FF XII is one of the best and coolest CGI I ever seen. And remember I said ONE of the best, there are others that I like as much.

Oh god I just know I'm going to be forced to buy final fantasy XII once i start checking out all these videos.

Time to hype the hell out of all the playstation 2 and 3 games =P

Oh wow.... after seeing that I MUST buy this game. The intro was absolutely stunning and I ALREADY like where the story is going. I didn't understand a word of what they were saying, but I have a rough idea of what took place and its something I like. If that intro is any indication of this game in terms of story then I understand why it got 40/40 in famitsu.

Of course the gameplay elements must be really good too. I'll be buying this game when it comes to the usa for my ps2 damnit didn't want to go and buy more current gen games, but this and god of war 2 I have to get.

I want blue dragon and lost odyssey to be this good.

That intro was like a mix of star wars, gladiator and lord of the rings.

I played the demo that came with Dragon Quest 8, it was fun, battle's are very similar to FFXI.

I don't think it looks as nice as FFX graphically, different art style i suppose.

Its' not turn based, you control the main charcter and the AI controls the other 2 character although you can switch between charcters during battle.

If by Turn based you mean you have to wait for a timer for your next attack then yes you do, but this isn't a hack and slash RPG.

Also there are no random battles because all enemies are shown on the map, so if your clever you can avoid them.

well im more of hack n slash guy. I like to control my character to take out the enemy, not to give the character "orders" to do what.

Yea i don't like that, both FFXI and FFXII have had war as their story line and it kind of detracts from the Fantasy of the other games.

It does seem to have a lot of western influence in it. (star wars being a big one)

I should be getting the Japanese version of this game next week so i will let you know what i think, unless blim beats me to it.

yea I agree with you, I got alot of Star wars vibe when the air combat showed.
And then when the whole army of "darkness" showed I thought of LOTR The Two Towers.
I love it, got alittle bit chilly when the air combat began hehe.

Looks great, shame we won't be seeing it until the end of the year or even later than that probably, i'm willing to wait until then though, should be worth it.

Looks pretty good, though I'm not too sure about the combat system, guess I would have to try it to see if I would actually like it. Its at least a nice change from other FF games. I'm just glad the battle aren't random, cause if they were I would avoid the game like the avian flu.

I know exactly how you feel, I feel the same. But I'm always willing to make the exception for FF. Cant wait for this game, and I cant wait to play it on the ps3 since itll upscale everything to HD resolutions.

This game got a perfect score from Famitsu, which is an EXTREMELY rare occurance, so that should be encouraging.

Well there is a Demo out already that came with Dragon Quest VIII. If you cant get your hands on it there are videos of the demo online.

If there's one thing that im not looking forward to about this game, its the crap ass english dubbing. I wouldnt mind if they did what Capcom did with Onimusha Dod, and include the original voice track and put the game over multiple dvd's.

this game looks awsome for a ps2 game. there has been a lot of graphically amazing games on the ps2 lately like black, graw, god of war, and now this im realy pleased i didnt trade in my ps2. just downloading the vid now.
