Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

While Japanese players will get their hands on Final Fantasy XIII on December 17, the rest of the world will have to wait until March 2010. To tease you even more, Square-Enix just released a new trailer entitled Feel the Pulse so here it is now, for your eyes only.

looks alright, hasn't really evolved since FFX it seems. I was expecting a lot initially when they said the lead would be a female, guess i was wrong.

whatever

Lol not evolved much from FF10, have you even played the demo ?

Of course if you are refering to the overal look and feel of the game then you were obviously expecting too much.

Does't look like its been downgraded that much, has to have some of the best looking hair in a game also.

I'm still on the fence about how repetitive the gameplay will become, trailer was pretty sweet though.

That trailer did nothing for me. They try so hard to be emotional with the scenes and music but since I give a fuck about their „superb“ characters they fail horribly at getting me excited about the game.
The battle mechanics might be nice, aside from the dreadful designed summons, but honestly I expect the game to be bollocks when it comes to story and characters.

Maybe there will be some games in March that will make me forget about FFXIII and I will be able to peacefully pass it. And if not the most enjoyable part will probably be to beat on this game on a bulletin board...

American gamers are always tearing down JRPG no matter how good they are. Americans have trouble accepting other country's works; music, movies & games. It always been like this.

Anyway, FFXIII is going to be a fantastic fantasy/sci-fi experience. Can't wait for next year.

I’m no American…
Maybe you should revise your own prejudices first.

What is wrong with criticizing a game for its shortcomings?
I can’t stand the scene in which this white haired guy talks to Snow. They are fucking enemies if he (the white haired dude) really wants to kill these I’Ciel, or whatever they call them, then he should put a fucking bullet between Snows eyes and be done with it and not chitchat with him.
Arg…

Absolutely stunning work from Square. top tier stuff all the way. The amount of work that must have gone into those visuals boggles the mind.

2010 is going to be an amazing year for gaming.

The characters look like they walked out of a Japanese teen fashion catalog. Seems like it's going to be hard to take the story or battles seriously with such shallow character designs. And I am a big FF fan, so I was really looking forward to this. Hopefully the game will still be fun to play though...

Why so Angry? I wasn't referring to you. If you're not American why would you care what I have to say?

Prejudices? If you want to call it that then fine. Everytime gamersyde post JRPG news people criticize the game like crazy. And the thing is people are not criticizing gameplay but how the characters looks.

make me sick. People can't accept other culture's creations.

Was my post really that offensive? Is it like a hate speech against America? No. You need to learn the meaning behind the word ''prejudices''.

You are so quick to jump on anyone's criticism that you didn't even read my whole post. I said I am a big FF fan, and I've played every FF game out there. Just because I don't like these particular designs doesn't mean I condemn an entire culture. How can you take a fierce life and death battle seriously when the characters look like they spend more time holding a bottle of hair conditioner than a sword? I can't say that the designs definitely don't work for the setting because I haven't played it yet (and neither have you) but it just seems far fetched. Even more so than previous FF titles.

i have to say sometimes i can get in touch with this style, sometimes its too extreme, but i can accept it anyway.

Sigh. Of course hes not refering to graphics. Gfx is the only thing that has changed in jrpgs since SNES. I mean its the genre with the least innovation (next to beat em ups maybe), or spoken through flowers, the most traditional genre.

Take any jrpg from the SNES, pump up the gfx, and BAM you get a fully blown next-gen jrpg. fighting system, story telling and everything else is stayed the same.

Well they say never change a winning team. I enjoyed most jrpgs I played, and I sure will enjoy this one IF I am bored enough to buy it...

Dude, there is so much wrong with your posts. Besides your incorrect overgeneralization, America is all about accepting other cultures and Ideas. The Melting pot thing is kinda our deal. What we are intollerant of is little things like threats to our security, oppression of liberty, that sort of thing. I know plenty of Americans that eat up JRPGs, and plenty who don't. We like our individualism...

I’m not angry and I care because I read it and think its garbage.
You assume that being intolerant is a feature shared by most or all members of a group without any solid evidence other than your own narrow and probably inaccurate experience.
What would you call that?
Some people criticize FFXIII and you come out of nowhere with “Americans”. Why?
Where is your connection to America (I guess you talking about the USA) here?
You made a random comment displaying your very own intolerance.

Btw. I disagree on jRPGs being all the same.
I think that is nonsense to me. It is like arguing about a race game being about racing or complaining about all shooter being the same.
You carelessly said the fighting system would stay the same yet every recent FF got a different system. See?
My point is if some people have problems with a genre in general then they should consider leaving it simply alone.

then you must not have played many since the snes days. its funny when people see "turn-based" and that automatically equals "the exact same gameplay!!!"
turn-based is merely a gameplay flow framework, which jrpgs have done FAR more with than say...all the shooter wrpgs that have been coming out.
if i say "realtime" does that automatically mean the exact same gameplay? no, then why is it that people think turn-based stuff is the same.

the reality is the gameplay has varied greatly if you bother to look at jrpgs beyond "turnbased!"
the graphics of course have improved.
the average writing of a given jrpg has greatly improved (assuming you've even played the old jrpgs that never released outside of Japan)
the narrative abilities of teh devs has improved

to say you don't like what they offer is fine and ok. to say they've stayed the same has long been a BS opinion based on clinging to a few EXTREMELY general phrases without deeper thought.
