While Japanese players will get their hands on Final Fantasy XIII on December 17, the rest of the world will have to wait until March 2010. To tease you even more, Square-Enix just released a new trailer entitled Feel the Pulse so here it is now, for your eyes only.

Of course if you are refering to the overal look and feel of the game then you were obviously expecting too much.
Does't look like its been downgraded that much, has to have some of the best looking hair in a game also.
I'm still on the fence about how repetitive the gameplay will become, trailer was pretty sweet though.
The battle mechanics might be nice, aside from the dreadful designed summons, but honestly I expect the game to be bollocks when it comes to story and characters.
Maybe there will be some games in March that will make me forget about FFXIII and I will be able to peacefully pass it. And if not the most enjoyable part will probably be to beat on this game on a bulletin board...
also its there going to be like hours and hours of cutscenes?
Im interested but I dont even played a FF before and I dont know what kind of gameplay are in this games.
Anyway, FFXIII is going to be a fantastic fantasy/sci-fi experience. Can't wait for next year.

Maybe you should revise your own prejudices first.
What is wrong with criticizing a game for its shortcomings?
I can’t stand the scene in which this white haired guy talks to Snow. They are fucking enemies if he (the white haired dude) really wants to kill these I’Ciel, or whatever they call them, then he should put a fucking bullet between Snows eyes and be done with it and not chitchat with him.
Arg…
2010 is going to be an amazing year for gaming.

Prejudices? If you want to call it that then fine. Everytime gamersyde post JRPG news people criticize the game like crazy. And the thing is people are not criticizing gameplay but how the characters looks.

Was my post really that offensive? Is it like a hate speech against America? No. You need to learn the meaning behind the word ''prejudices''.

Take any jrpg from the SNES, pump up the gfx, and BAM you get a fully blown next-gen jrpg. fighting system, story telling and everything else is stayed the same.
Well they say never change a winning team. I enjoyed most jrpgs I played, and I sure will enjoy this one IF I am bored enough to buy it...

You assume that being intolerant is a feature shared by most or all members of a group without any solid evidence other than your own narrow and probably inaccurate experience.
What would you call that?
Some people criticize FFXIII and you come out of nowhere with “Americans”. Why?
Where is your connection to America (I guess you talking about the USA) here?
You made a random comment displaying your very own intolerance.
Btw. I disagree on jRPGs being all the same.
I think that is nonsense to me. It is like arguing about a race game being about racing or complaining about all shooter being the same.
You carelessly said the fighting system would stay the same yet every recent FF got a different system. See?
My point is if some people have problems with a genre in general then they should consider leaving it simply alone.

turn-based is merely a gameplay flow framework, which jrpgs have done FAR more with than say...all the shooter wrpgs that have been coming out.
if i say "realtime" does that automatically mean the exact same gameplay? no, then why is it that people think turn-based stuff is the same.
the reality is the gameplay has varied greatly if you bother to look at jrpgs beyond "turnbased!"
the graphics of course have improved.
the average writing of a given jrpg has greatly improved (assuming you've even played the old jrpgs that never released outside of Japan)
the narrative abilities of teh devs has improved
to say you don't like what they offer is fine and ok. to say they've stayed the same has long been a BS opinion based on clinging to a few EXTREMELY general phrases without deeper thought.
