Looks ok i guess, can't really tell tbh, the images are so small (as usual for SE) and they dont really show much.

looks like FFXI 2.0 + shaders.

Nice for the FFXI Players that still play the game, i guess.

Looks really interesting, turn based gameplay or wow like?

Will probably be like FFXI was, over playing like WoW. Which is a shame but it makes sense for a console MMO because WoW requires waaaay too many buttons for a gamepad.

Its' nothing like FFXI 2.0

There is plenty of info out there if you can be bothered to look.

SE have said in interviews that the combat will be more like real time, the world and job systems are all totally different, there will be a bigger focus on solo play this, although party and large scale battles will also be in the game.

As for way too many buttons for a gamepad well the PS3 does support a keyboard, unless you really think people are going to comunicate through a gamepad.

looks very nice, if gameplay really does resemble that...very different aesthetic from FFXIII obviously

I don't understand why the anti-MMO group can't just enjoy the fact that there are two traditional Final Fantasy games coming out in the same year as FFXIV and just ignore it.

Looks like it's cool to be anti-MMO these days.

Yea kind of sad how people right a game off even though they have no idea what the game is like.

FF14 will be better off without you :)

It's like... a MMO, for god sake.
A missed oportunity for us all, to see the next "real" Final Fantasy chapter.

Good luck preaching otherwise.

I dont know why the game was such a surprise . we've actually know square was working on an MMO for quite some time, it just wasn't clear if it was going to be a final fantasy title or not. Im disappointed that it is, im not even remotely interested in MMO's, so being a Final Fantasy fan, its disappointing that I have to skip another one.

No, it's really not a missed oppertunity at all. Did you really expect the next single player Final Fantasy to come out in the same year as FFXIII and Versus? Give me a damned break.. gamers are all "me, me, me!" That's about as misguided a statement as claiming that FFXII and FFXIII were missed opportunities in seeing a sequel to FXI.

So far, this just looks like FFXI 2.0. I want to see some big changes coming to gameplay. A lot less grinding please.

What are you talking about? XIII and Versus are out in the same year as XIV. Do you honestly think they would take away resource from their core, multi-million selling FFs in order to produce an FF MMO? Okaaaaaay then.

I don't think it's "cool".
I just think many people dislike having to pay monthly for a game.

Maybe thats true, MMO's provide a greater experience than any SP game does as did/does FF11 provide a longer lasting experience than any of the single player FF games do.

Whether you enjoy MMO's or agree with SE's next MMO being a Final Fantasy game is besides the point, it doesn't sound like it has much of an effect on you, especially as you won't give the game a chance.

It's kind of amusing how people are so hurt that SE didn't consider their feelings before making a game, just get over it already.

If this comes anywhere near to being as great as WoW is then I will be extremely surprised. So many developers have promised to release great MMO's but none have yet to really shine. Closest was AoC and that ones console version got scrapped. MMO's and consoles just don't go together unless you want every single player to plug a keyboard into their PS3 and a wireless mouse.. but then its not really much different to a PC? If FFXI was anything to go by, unless they learn from all their mistakes and find some way to make it work properly, I doubt it will be good. I'm not writing it off, don't get me wrong, I would love this to be great, I tried FFXI and I didn't like it but I did give it a go. I'll be willing to do it again, but I'm not sceptical to it being anything great until I see more. Lets hope they aren't just milking the FF franchise :)

I didnt ignore it. I just dont feel any appeal to the FF MMOs to be honest. Sorry if it bothers you.

In fact I do play MMOs, I just didnt find FFXI that great... soooo thats all.
