Why have the level of graphics for Final Fantasy not changed since PS2? Game looks oddly flat and bland for a PS4 title, even if an MMO. ESO graphics aren't good at all, but are way better looking than this.
The tech demo they showed for the new final fantasy engine a year or two ago, what Final Fantasy game is supposed to use that? Because that was beautiful.

This was built for PC and PS3 so there is that. Also, FFXIII didn't look like a PS2 game at all. It did have some technical limitations, but overall it looked pretty impressive, if far too linear.

You rarely ever get bleeding edge visuals in MMO's because they're aimed at everyone and their grandma spec wise. The more people can play it, the more money they make...and in the case of this PS4 version...it's a PS3 port. An up-res.
Even the likes of everquest next probably won't be doing much in the way of blowing minds visually. It's not really what they're about. I think the only way we'd see an MMO looking nice is if it was exclusive to a console.
