PC PS2 Xbox

You who used to play on the old Amiga should remember the lovely Sensible Soccer, the true footy-king of the last-last-last-last-last-gen "consoles". When I found out a new version was coming to Xbox, PC and PS2, I was hoping that we still would get the fantastic 2D - but in a new, original shape. Well, I can announce I'm not hoping for anything from this game anymore.

No, it probably won't, fatsausage, but it's still a wonderful prospect! This played so much BETTER than some of the new footie games, in fact, thanks to actually being able to put the ball exactly where you wanted to.

It's a shame some of you are hyping this just because it's a classic, it seems to be a very low budget game, destined to flop.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, but I highly doubt it'll do well. Who's developing this game?

Press-release:
And it's not just Sensible Soccer's playability-oozing action that's back: Jon Hare, designer and producer of the original Sensible Soccer, has been working with Codemasters' gameplay gurus, David and Richard Darling, on a collaborative game design. Kuju Entertainment, publishers of Tower Studios' Sensible Soccer for mobile phones, is managing development.

Sensible Soccer has always looked crap, this will be no different in that regards. But its gameplay that will shine and this is where it made its mark as the finest football game of all time. So fingers crossed this plays as well.

Not at all, I think it works as a good unique graphical motif to the series. Sensible Soccer itself is a kind of ironic title as the game was anything but!

Kick Off 2 will always be king. Does anyone play sensible soccer anymore? Kick Off 2 has an anual world cup as well as many national and regional competitions. Kick Off 2 Forever!
