Xbox 360 PS3

Konami announced a few minutes ago the release next autumn of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Konami will introduce a brand new adaptive AI called Teamvision that should be able to adapt to the player's style, along with the usual yearly enhancements. Let's just hope that the game won't have half of its content missing like last year's 360 version of PES6. First screens inside.

Looks a little better than PES 6 on Xbox 360. However I hope they put the full features into the 360 version this time else I won't be buying it. Game play is always good in PES tho but I want the full features like the PS2 and PC version had.

Just read Ign article and saw screenshots alot of new touches teamvision sounds good but will have to wait to see how it plays. Also shirt pulling and graphics will be better according to Konami remember these shots are still very early in development. :)

Also full Edit mode in for next gen version :)

Hmm, hope to see some inovations. For the looks of it, this "brand new adaptive AI called Teamvision" just sounds like bollocks...something to say in the press releases other than, we just updated the teams and equipments...
I'm a big fan o PES, can't count the number of hours i've played, but would like to see some spicing up of the genre

Oh, and Go Portugal!

It's good that Konami continue to focus on gameplay improvements but with all the money they make from it, they could invest in other areas as well. The last shot of the stadium looks good mind.

I'm hoping for better live integration, spectator mode, sharing of replays, tournaments and the like. Not sure we'll get it until PSN is more mature sadly :(

Must by regardless for me anyway, just hope they get Veron back in :)

Veron is playing in Argentina isn't he?

Such a shame he could never adapt to the Premiership.

As for PES7 (or 2008 or whatever) it really does appear to be a yearly update to the 360 version from last year. People were kidding themselves thinking Konami had a secret engine just for the PS3.

I really dont see why of all big companies, the PES team dont know how to make next gen graphics at all, Doesnt even look good enough for an xbox 1 game...

I wonder, is it seriously lazy devs or just lack of talent in the graphics/art department?

Still the game is gonna be fantastic as always :)

Why go through all the trouble if the game is gonna sell millions any way?

He's got back into the Argentina squad so fingers crossed yes. In PES5 with Inter, I could run games with him. Couldn't adapt in PES6, even with Super Cheapness Adriano.

I'd rather Konami focus on gameplay and features as the first is the most important and the second was sorely lacking in last year's game. If they get time to polish up the graphics then great, but the other two have to come first.

Oh I totally agree that gameplay comes first, it was the ridiculous crowing from certain sections of the community that the PS3 version would be a totally different game in terms of visuals.

"However, the most noticeable improvement PES 2008 will offer over its predecessors (apart from Teamvision of course) is the graphics. Konami promises it will be a true next-gen experience, so there will be proper facial animations, shirt pulling and kits that flow and crease as the players run around. Watermarks from sweat and rain appear as the game continues too, bringing the player that bit closer to the action than ever before."

umm, lol, i sure dont see any of that in these screenshots :P konami needs to get some artistic talent on the PES team

Well ive been playing so many houres, i cant even count them.
My m8 and I, we started with PES3 and are still playing PES6 alot.

There are alot of bugs in PES6, minor mistakes and some other things we would like to import from FIFA. We also played all FIFA parts and compared them all and we are still with PES.

I hope for less faulty passes, more animations/graphics, more licensed teams, more.. FEELING, and my friend wants new menus (i like em) :D

ALSO: Many players have to high skills, but still miss the goal from 15 meters....
the strength/skill-system has to be completely rebuild imho.
I played with Peru vs Brazil and owned him totaly easy with no world-class-footballer.... thats lame, hope it gets fixed
Fall 2007... im waiting for you!

None. Konami obviously does have talented people as far as graphics go, and even the team that works on this. The real reason is money. They are obviously not bothering to invest the money on graphics, not a freaking penny. That sucks to be honest, because it really does look awful.

And to whoever said the graphics will look much improved, early build, blaha blahbla.......come on, I thought we had learned a lesson already.

The game won't look much better than what we are seeing. Having said that, if they have some nice facial animations, it could make things look drastically better.

Well, to be fair, the players are tiny specks on the screen 95% of the time, so I reckon it doesn't really matter one bit. What does matter is making that zoomed out actual gameplay mode for the camera look authentic, because that's where Fifa - despite having rediculous amounts of effort invested in their models - still looks like an Xbox game.

PES has always had much more believable animation and that's gone a long way, but it could make similar strides in simply capturing the right look of the pitch from overhead.
