I am so excited for this, the first one was really great with a deep story, fast action and amazing sound effects. The only downside was the dull environments and repetitive enemies, but I am sure they will address those matters. (The environments look pretty good so far).

It is freaking horrible. The downloads are also chugging along at Dial up speeds....
It might be a server issue, or some dummass direct linked stuff.

Looks really cool. I loved the horror element of Fear so hoping this will match or surpass that

I am absolutely loving Condemned 2 at the moment, so the more Monolith games the better as far as I'm concerned. This will be awesome!! I'm still waiting for another No One Lives Forever sequel though! Make it happen dudes!

Our hosting company has put limitations on the download/streaming speeds during their peak hours. It's at about 50 kB/s so it's a bit too low for the stream.
We knew it was coming, after all they are still dozens of times cheaper than anything else in the world and I still output more than 150 Mb/s regularly.
I'm thinking about lowering the stream quality during the peak hours (5 to 11 pm CET) to what it was before, and having the better quality one during the off hours.
As for the downloads, just use a download accelerator. Warning though, Firefox's extension DownThemAll will most definitely not manage to download the whole file, so use something else. With 8 concurrent threads, you still can get 400 kB/s during the peak hours.

They didn't make the game...

I think this will be great. First one was super atmospheric with good gunplay. Only negatives were the bland environments and samey enemies. Hopefully they listened to the players.

doesnt seem to be the case from what i've seen. seems this one is set in a repetative hospital rather then repetative buildings. although i gotta say, this game does look good. the engine still looks dated tho. but at least they're doing some interesting things with it.

Well, that's just the first level as far as I can tell. I'm still gonna play it no matter what. Maybe won't buy it but I know for a fact that I will enjoy it.

Yup.. can't wait! I hope there's more of a narrative here. I love FEAR's story to death, but they made no attempt to actually tell you that story, they just assumed you would piece it together yourself as you went along.

We've already seen more environments in this game than there were in FEAR. Hospital, subway, streets. FEAR gets so much crap for this.. when games like PREY and DOOM3 took place in ONE environment (and both were still entertaining campaigns). It didn't stop FEAR from being one of the best action games of its time, and I doubt it will stop this one from owning either.

I don't care if their engine looks crappy, it has nice sparks and physics and plays nicely, not to mention F.E.A.R. is about as awsome as fps gameplay gets =)

I like it though I never though i'd say maybe there are too many scary, deserted town, apocalyptic games with those themes now.
