I wish dead rising with a tweaked save system was ported instead.....oh well.

Looking good. I kinda skipped the game on 360. Might try it now since online is free. I'd also love a Dead Rising port, but only if it supports trophies. There was nothing wrong with the save system if you ask me.

A serious question - why some scenes seem to be jaggy-free and others don't?

pre-rendered cut scenes?
Like someone on GAF said, Capcom made those cut scenes using some crazy batshit computer specs (remember their framework engine runs on PC's) and just slapped em on Xbox 360 and now PS3.

Those cutscenes don't run realtime on 360 or PS3.

And since when does Capcom use pre rendered cutscenes? unless you can provide me a source of course, something a little more legitimate than some dude on a games forum.

The resident Evil series.

Recently though, they have not been using pre rendered cutscenes.

They could be using the cutscenes from the 360 version, doom bringer.

I would think they could make lost planet look as good as DMC4 looks good on the ps3, but then again there is a explanation as to why they might not be able.

on the 360 Lost Planet's cut scenes were all in-engine, there's a button combo that allows you to manipulate the camera. but the PS3 version... who knows?

Kinda odd that they showed all the spoilers for the game. Even the last boss and the ending...

Game still looks better than MGS4 so its buying IMO. Hopefully the PS3 version will have the 360's sexy motion blur effects.

@Doom

That's just DUMB. I'm sorry but yeah, "a guy on gaf"???

Now explain to me the slight hitches in framerate during this "pre-rendered" cutscenes. They run real time, and the game looks awesome, and the game uses motion blur during gameplay. Wow.

Lost Planet is one of the most amazing looking games this gen, some people really underestimate it in this regard, it takes playing to fully realize this I guess.

Ah yes. Lost planet, it shall always be in my memory as the game that killed my first 360, on my birthday no less. At least it only took MS 11 days to get my new one to me.

Yeah, let's trust some random guy on GAF...
All the cutscenes in Lost Planet were realtime.

Wow, that must be the most spoiler-filled game trailer I've ever seen!

Had the game on 360 and loved it. Reminded me of Starship Troopers hugely. :D

If theyre pre-rendered then how come the texture resolution has gone down the pooper in this version?

And I'm pretty sure most of the cutscenes in the 360 version were realtime since they had a tiny bit of tearing here and there and LOOKED realtime in their sharpness (just like in Dead Rising) and lacked compression artifacts, but I suppose the only verification would have to come from somebody who rips the disc and examines if there are large videos in there or not.

My money is on realtime for both consoles and the PS3 version is sporting a significant downgrade in the textures, most likely half resolution (or quarter the pixels).

And about neogaf, they ban anybody who dares speak about PS3 game native resolutions (just check the threads, banned banned banned) so I wouldnt hold them as an unbiased source for facts nor accurate in any sense. When somebody cant tell that Cod3 runs at 30fps on one and 60fps on another they are either in denial or in need of medication.
