People have been waiting for this for weeks and here it is today, the first real HD gameplay footage of Forza Motorpsort 3. When players learnt in the previous days that there would indeed be no dedicated animation for the pilot's hand on the shifter, some were really disappointed. Hopefully, it will cheer them up to see that the framerate is rock solid, whatever the view you pick to play. As for the rest, I'll let you give your impressions in that nice and friendly manner of yours.

I would like the engine audio to be meatier. The trailers for Shift have awesome audio.
. . . yep. That's it. That's all I got. And given that I'm going to be blasting my "Racing Playlist" when I'm getting my Forza on, I'm not going to be hearing too much of the in-game audio anyways.
Damn that looks pretty. Physics and weight of the cars looks yummy too. And now vinyls can be structured on a grid, instead of on the roof of a Mini Cooper? Happy busboy.
At least, happy busboy until I remember you all get your dirty non-me hands on it before I do in the States. Then I'm very resentful.
What is meant by "dedicated animation for the pilot's hand on the shifter" ?
The music is not to my taste but you can always switch it off.
The missing shifting animation does not bother me. If I remember right GT HD did not have one and it did not bother me there. Most of these animations are not accurate anyways. There is a very good chance that you already shifted the moment the animation starts. It still would be nice to have them but it won’t make the game any better or worse.
The windshield seems to lack any reflections, scratches dust and dirt so it looks like there is no windshield at all. Honestly I don’t care about that either. In PGR3 I thought these windshield details obstructed the overview and where quite the penalty for driving in cockpit. GT5P is lacking these details as well and I like the cockpit view there. However NSF:Shift got them and, as far as I can judge by the videos, is still able to keep the overview from the cockpit fair. Anyway the perfect clear windshield might not be super realistic but it won’t obstruct the view either and the last thing is more important to me.
If I have to criticize something than that the cockpits are way too dark in general. I mean its pitch black inside but they are still racing during day time.
I know Forza 3 will be an amazing game/sim just as Forza 2 was but after all the lovely screenshots and the developers really bigging up their game, I expected something better I guess.
It just doesn't look as realistic as "the other" sim that shall remain nameless for now
The lighting and the textures seems wrong to me.

I'm not impressed at all.
Also there appears to be a lot of video artifacting on this which affects the details. I can't imagine that'll be a problem onscreen.
I was expecting more.
Alot of people are saying that shift looks better?
I'd like to have a go of each game.
Not impressed.
It's not quite as "real" looking as GT, whose lighting is great, but the movement of the cars is something else. They don't float like GT's seem to (which can also be seen in the rallying portion of the recent video). It still looks fantastic standalone.
Also, what's wrong with something having a style? Artistically it works to create an identity. Which F3 has. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8R4ZkdHHJc
lol I was just thinking the same.
