@vansant & Gangstarr- True, but I'm curious as to why you guys don't mention that for other game releases since about 9 out of 10 of them all use the exact same bullshot marketing approach before release? I played the demo. The game still looks great and more importantly PLAYS great. It's not perfect but what game is? (don't answer that)

@haig07: I thought it played very nicely. Was a bit dissappointed with the cockpit view, but to be honest, once you're out there racing (I prefer hood cam anyway), I had a job to pull myself away from it. Fantastic handling, gorgeous environments and smooth as a fuck in silk.
Plus, with photomode pictures of the Supra looking THAT good, who needs porn? ;o)
Please, for the love of God, keep to FM3 chat here. I'm through with the constant sniping against the 'other driving game'. Both have their merits and demerits.
As it happens, I'm very happy with the demo of FM3 - handling is well sorted and approachable. One quirk is that hard mode seems to be easier than in FM2.
Really now guys, the game is beautiful to look at and plays like a dream. And once you've been in the porsche with the wheel, their's no going back, thats one moment in gaming I'll never forget.

Ummm... did you completely misread my post or something? I never brought another game into the discussion. I was simply stating that most games in every genre use the same bullshot marketing tactics and the actual game won't look as good as the screenshots. a game like forza will shine with variety your forgettin there is no day/night cycle or weather effects in the demo plus there will be other more mesmerising tracks, the only fault turn 10 made was making a flippant statement about being the greatest looking game ever.
this game just disappoints me the more i see of it. when playing the forza 3 demo it felt too much like pgr4, which is terrible considering that they advertise this as a simulation racer. they have a long way to go before they can reach a level of other games such as gtr2, live for speed, gt etc.
The ONLY difference that I see with these screens and the actual demo is AA. The game is beautiful and while the cars may not be the best, the total package graphically is ONE of the best looking racers to ever come out. Cant wait to experience all the game has to offer as it is without question the deepest racer ever.

The game looks nice, but those pictures look great. I have more of a problem with Turn 10 and not the actual game. I think there a cocky bunch who taut a little bit to much about there game. "Defenitive Sim" And sure this happens with other games, but I wouldn't say 9/10.
I liked the demo, I thought it handled great with the wheel.

cockpit view lacking the standard helmet cam was a huge oversight for me... though i hear that its available in the full game - why not have the demo be a true representation of your game? The excuse of it being the E3 build is plainly false given all views are running at 60fps..which wasnt the case with the E3 demo.
I can only assume that the cams limited because the works not gone into modelling the dashboards. And its further a shame that they didnt spend the time modelling the shift change animations... yet are happy to spend time modelling, coding, and advertising, DLC before the release of the game.
The only other disappointment i have with it is again cosmetic. The pit is a disgrace.. static figurines that dont even look particularly detailed. Weither this is again a true representation of the finished game or not i dont know.. but its certainly being shown up by all this new GT5 footage we're seeing.
Other than that i thought the demo played great, easy, but great. Feels solid..and messing with the D-pad reveals alot going on in the background.
In the demo when your opponents are at a distance it's the same low quality model as from Forza 2, but when you get closer they switch to medium quality which look wayyyyy better then the forza 2 opponent models. You can tell the difference mainly by how the seams in the cars are done, on low quality they're simply a black line and on medium they're polygonal. Overall it's a nice improvement from Forza 2.
*you only see the high quality models in the menu and rigth when the race starts.
Good lord these photomode screens are getting old. Are they seriously going to show the same few tracks over and over? I think some gameplay vids are more than reasonable at this point. Game is gonna be great, but all this photomode crap has become a tired game.
