Second stage of our Forza Motorsport 3 week, no less than a two minutes long replay on the famous 24H du Mans track. Unlike the mountain lap we released last monday, this video is not at sixty frames per second. The reason is good and simple. In Forza Motorsport 3 as in Gran Turismo 5 (but not as in Gran Turismo PSP), replays are only running at thirty frames per second. If you miss the thrill of high speed animation you'll have to wait until next friday for our third and last Forza Motorsport 3 gameplay video from Cannes'IDEF. A full 24H du Mans event at sixty frames per second.

Commented on 2009-07-08 21:13:54I'll wait for the 60fps of this, but if it's the same camera etc, I'm not so sure it's gonna look as stunning as the other 60fps ones..
Still, nice Job guys, this site seems to be the one they all copy and fail!

Commented on 2009-07-08 22:08:04Don't get me wrong, i know F3 can do much better, ive been seriously impressed with everything up till now and have repeatedly gushed over the improvements. This track though falls SO far below the bar that the only way to describe it is to say its cartoony.
That being said, at least the flags have a bit more life, look like theyre competing with GT in that department now aswell.

T10 should reveal a new fantasy track that can compete with the Montserrat tracks!!
Commented on 2009-07-08 23:07:20Replay views look great this time round, one thing that was definitely lacking in Forza 2. Track detail looks brilliant too, loving the bumps in the road.

One thing i would like to see alot more of is the helmet cam view...which was something that was definatly sorely lacking from F2.
I'd also like to see more on how its design editors been improved..as thats always been part of Forza's A game.
Commented on 2009-07-08 23:22:41On a very positive notes, the replays are watchable. This is a huge deal, I couldn't stand the FM2 replays. Huge improvement, yet it isn't a PGR4, GT, or GRID.
On another very good positive is the way the car moved around the track. The suspension work was pretty damn good. There wasn't a moment where the suspension wasn't moving, and that's a great thing. It shows some work on the physics, and track detail.

Commented on 2009-07-09 00:38:23However, if you take the bits of footage out which is seen through a vertically raised camera, you are left with some really nice imagery. The starting area bit is really nice forexample. The footage were we go alongside the peugeot on the Mulzane straight is very impressive. And the lighting on the cars before the dunop bridges, AND coming down the bends after the Dunlop bridge is also highly impressive.
The places where it breaks is when you are in helicopter view and see areas of the track that you wouldn't normally see in normal car ride height. I would also love to see some more color variation in the trees and foilage.
Nice vid. I would love to see a incar view only movie of this session. I bet that was looking awesome.
