Not that I needed any more convincing, but this is certainly one game that I'll be getting on the first day. Looks amazing, and dare I say it, a system seller.

Forza's lighting engine has improved drastically, but when I compare what I've seen thus far to GT5 at its best, it really doesn't come close. Don't get me wrong praise Forza 4 for what it is, which is, 'a consistently great looking game' but to act as if the visuals in Forza are beyond comprehension is a misnomer of the greatest.

I can't help but wonder what all this man power (or female power) :) spent to create similar games could achieve under one banner, off course the economists out there would say competition is essential to evolution but I don't think that's true with art forms.

Imagine Turn 10 and PD working together. I'm pretty sure that the standard vs premium car problem wouldn't have been an issue.

One can only dream.

Anyways, the game is yet to be released so it may yet shock me (visually), but I highly doubt that. I mean an apple can only be so green, and GT5 is as near perfect green as anyone can get.

I love Forza, always have. can't wait for this one. I also would love to come into ANY Forza article without having to read GT5 comments over and over again. Let it go people, they are two different games.

Seriously? With those beautiful card board cutout, Two perpendicular polygons for trees in gt5? Or the low geometry (besides the cars), etc. The whole game looks like a photoshop cut and paste. The cars don't even belong in the poor looking environments.
Honestly when I saw this video start to play i thought to myself, to hell with this bullshot business and prerendered crap. Then i saw at the very last second in the corner, 'in game footage'. I had to watch it again.

This game is beautiful so far and easily takes the crown in the visual department in my opinion.

As already said, Forza manages to be way more consistent than GT gfx-wise.

I could post a pic where GT5 looks like a pile of shit, or I could post one, where it looks shockingly life-like. Thats why all those gfx discussion end up with getting personal and throwing insults at each other.

That all to say about it...

What are you talking about?! They are both racing games, that's why people constantly compare them.

"different games".... unbelievable.

sorry but all you disgruntled GT fans really need to get out more, it obvious that Turn 10 are going to produce yet another highly rated racing sim that focuses more on racing than just lighting or car detail in photo mode.

its quite funny that in every Forza 4 thread there always a few people that go on about GT5's lighting while forgetting to god awfull shadow effects or environments, you need to accept that GT is old and no fun, forza 3 was pretty much what GT3 was and sorry to say this but GT3 really was the best GT game polyphony have produced to date (it was the most fun, isnt that what games are supposed to be) ??.

I don't know about best looking, the cars are still kinda cartoony compared to GT. But what Forza has is consistency. All the cars and environments get the same amount of respect. Plus there's the awesome online mode. I don't even want to speak about GT5's... And then there were the loading times... The game failed on so many aspects considering the development time. But it did look better, I hope you can at least admit that ;)

Yup. They have definately improved their lighting and shaders, and maybe by forza 5 thay will have the best in the business while GT6 is still in development..lol, but GT5 looks better still imo. it does what it does better... Realism. I have never once looked at a forza game and mistaken it for reality, not once. But i have done on numerous occasions with GT5. Putting the visual inconsistencies aside, that says it all for me. I'm sure people will be happy with either game tbh. I was more then happy with GT5. A series i previously hated. And i'm sure a good 4 million people will be happy with forza 4. There are far worse racers people could be playing then either *cough* shift/grid/dirt/ *cough*
