The question is why they went back on their aim of being "TDU with Forza handling". They started promising "open world" and now we know it's not open world (like TDU), only open ROAD.

No not every bit of the world is open and for good reason unlike TDU rough terrain is actually rough in this game and even the Raptor would have trouble with most of it let alone the rest of the cars in the game. There are definitely some open parts to the game to drive around and that should give people the freedom they yearn for from time to time.
If you want proof of what I said go jump in your car and try driving into a forest and tell me how far you get.
This racing game with the Forza name stapled or tacked on it is more of a competition or imitation of Need For Speed Most Wanted series... therefore its not a true racing game... what with its arcadey Cruisn USA and veering off the road in what appears to be condoning/promoting reckless driving, not to mention the on coming non racing traffic... yet there is this celebration theme in this game... of not obeying traffic laws? lolz... epic fail... at least other racing games in this similar genre don't take themselves so serious.

I guess you consider the Halo series a tribute to mass murder?
