Xbox 360 PS3

The demo of Fracture is available on Xbox Live since a few hours, and I've uploaded this video of its tutorial part, showing how this rather atypical shooter works. I didn't expect much from this game, but this demo actually made it look quite interesting.

I haven't tried the demo yet (waiting for the PSN version, no XBL Gold).
I am now more interested in the music than the actual game haha.
The music actually reminded me of LOST, the dark strong strings that kept playing, something Michael Giacchino uses all the time.

The graphics looks pretty nice, and I will definitely give this demo a go, I love sci-fi related shooters :)

Giacchino did some music for Fracture.

Wow you are right, I checked from music4games.com and he is doing it!
How I knew it was Giacchino is beyond me, but hey, thats for being a fan of the genre :)

Well now I can't wait for hearing more of the score.

it controls well, and looks nice, but i cant shake the feeling that its just a tech demo with a generic sci-fi "game" wrapped around it.

I like this alot more then i was expecting. When i saw the first trailers i got a big brute force vibe about it, but that's changed after playing it.

Cool demo. The controls are good, and the Entrenching is pretty well made.

lol this game is not based on UE 3 but in a way it´s looking more like the original vision of UE3 from the early tech demos.

1st... post after following this site for 3 years, yay for me ; )

For the 1. time I'm surprisied by all the posts regarding this demo. I was (unlike some of you) very hyped the 1. time I heard of this game but after playing the demo it became a "no buy" game for me. It's usually the other way around opinion wise you people VS me.

I think it's nothing like Brute Force (that happens to be one of my favorites on the orginal XBOX)

as i played it on psn i felt the same way. but it's great to see that multiplatform games are performing just as well on the ps3 now. and the sound quality/direction is quite good in this game as well.

The terrain deformation in the demo was cool, but the actual gunplay was weak. Shooting guys felt extremely ineffectual to me. This won't even touch Gears let alone kill it.

Everything you deform or destroy looks too pre determined

Note the water tower. He hits the top but the bottom gives way as if the legs were hit

thats cos that is actually scripted destruction, hence the reason you're pulled out of the action. its the general terain deformation that i think looks weird. if you get on that turret gun and shoot the ground it looks strange as hell. i'd rather it blow chunks out of the ground rather then smoothy alter it.

I liked it to some extent, the graphics were good, surprisingly, and it was mildly fun to play. But overall, very generic and very HALO meets Gears of War. But what pissed me off completely, is how (and like many other games these days) dumbed down the game is. Like, cool you can deform terrain to solve "puzzles" (push the ground up to get to that platform), yet everything is highlighted!! "create elevation here!!" Like, where's the challenge??
