As much as I like the look of this game, I hope there is an option to switch off those red flashing arrow... To be honest I like the gps shown first much better.

That's what I've been saying. I've really been looking forward to this, but if there isn't an option to turn those arrows off I don't think I'll buy the game. They're just way too obtrusive and annoying.

You're not buying the game because of the red arrows?

Right.

I'm a designer, but even I know when to ignore certain ugly things and just enjoy life.

Well that definitely looked slow :/
I hope it feels faster when playing.

(Also, annoying music)

I'm being completely honest when I say, I hope there's an option to turn off the stream of red arrows too.
As any gamers with epilepsy (who could normally play a driver with varied speed graphics) would not be able to endure that constant repetitive movement on screen.

I would not get my shorts in a knot over the arrows, OBVIOUSLY they can be disabled, I guess it's a system similar to GTP's racing line. In fact, I am all for having such a system when learning complex course layouts without crashing into a friggin ravine every five seconds.

Not sure if this game will be my bag anyway, I have yet to play an off road racer that really grabbed my attention.

i honestly wouldnt mind that sort of GPS system if it looked like it worked properly. those arrows where all over the place, one second telling you to turn right, then sudenly changing direction and saying "actually, i ment forward for 10 miles" make it work properly and i wont have much of an issue with it. good to know you can turn them off tho.

lol, at 27 seconds you can see that. It's pointing to the right and then it goes far ahead and then left. Stupid. Talk about the equivalent of "your other right"

Yeah but the trailer really focuses on the arrow.

The game might be good, but since those arrows are annoying, the trailer sucks ass...

My guess would be changing the camera angle messes up the arrows for a second or two. Still annoying if they are going wonky and off in the wrong directions though lol

Fuelstorm Motorpure
Superficially they may seem similar, but the open work in Fuel makes it a very different beast compared to Motorstorm and Pure (who aren't that similar either).

Itt seems the arrows/GPS try to keep you on the road. And the driver at 0.27 made a shortcut, so the arrows changed direction. You can clearly see the arrow on the road with the other drivers.

Those arrows really are annoying.
The graphics looks pretty decent though (only watched the stream), but i I'm pretty tired of the whole "race-to-be-first"-thing. Would prefer "race-to-survive" ala Smugglers Run. Imagine playing Bomb Tag in that environment? Now that would be col.
I still play Smugglers Run 2 on PS2. Old school ftw! ;o)

A free tip: the best way to ignore ugly things is not buying them.

p.s.: some designers develop ugly things they call 'games' and enjoy life AFTER work is done

Check out Split/Second from Blackrock (makers of the brillant PURE) and I think you'll have something to look forward to.
