I just get the feeling that they will deliver, but not like everyone is suspecting now.

that actually did look bad for a change. a lot more man made structures shown between the endless seas of desert. seeing the gameplay footage a while back still has me worried tho, it looked terrible, even now it doesnt look to be performing all too great (screen tearing worse then resident evil 5? i thought it was impossible!)
looks ok tho. if it gives you that same edge of the seat intense racing feel of motorstorm then i'm sold.
I don't like this game. Motorstorm PR is enough I guess. But will wait for more gameplay videos and review. F1 for sure and may be dirt2 will be nice games though.
Some nice vehicle designs in there, but like others I'm not so sure the gameplay will be great.
It looked very slow & boring, graphics are fine but lots of screen tearing, framedrops & blocky shadows.
If they can fix that and make the arrows optional (the ones in the sky to indicate the direction), I guess this game could become fantastic.
I don't know why but this game gives me the impression that it has very boring driving physics. For example, there were spots in that video where it felt like the car should have flipped, or bounced, or jumped longer. The jumps feel scripted, if that makes any sense. Kind of like Burnout Paradise, where you see the car snap between positions in mid air to mimic a jumping arc.

I agree with you, I Fing hate scripted physics, which of course is relative to the other more dynamic physics since they're all scripted to a degree.
whats really going to make this game great is if their able to striike a balance between stretches of deserted plains and infested landmarks full of greenery or whatever should fill in the space, but I've yet to play a game that allows me, the driver, to drive across a stretch of field/ road (no turns obviously) say for a minute at top speed with the other vehicles doing the same. It basically is a drag race, but the illusion of space and great expanses must be there.
