Konami held a Boot Camp event yesterday, an opportuniuty for the publisher to share screenshots and two new gameplay videos of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Note: Quality is not that good but that's the only files shared by Konami, don't blame us.

The big boss was meh, I rather see a enemy close to Raiden's rival, which we have seen, that is more interesting.
Other than that, combat looks pretty nice, but I just hope they have more weapons to add than a sword, especially along with new combos since thats most important thing in these type of games.
Since demo is out on Japanese PSN next week i will definitely download it and play it and see how it holds up, from combos to responsiveness of the controller.
As for next year, for me, nothing will beat Lords of Shadow 2.
No evade button but an evade slash, which feels slow and -thanks to the way you have to input it- sometimes won't even come out, or if, not go into the direction you wanted it to, resulting in you doing a normal attack or an evade into the wrong direction and thus you getting hit. The direction the evade goes to depends on the camera angle and your position in relation to the enemy you're fighting against. So it kinda works okay, when you're fighting only one enemy with lock-on but gets messed up as soon, as there are two or three of them, since the game can't decide which one to focus on and lock-on really being a bad idea when there are more of them around. Since the input for the move is utterly stupid (X+A+directional input) it's naturally not unlikely to get mixed up with other stuff and, as mentioned before, especially a normal slash.
Same goes for the parry (if you parry stuff just the moment before it hits you, you'll be able to do a counter attack btw.), where the input is another double layered one (X+direction on the left stick...so another one with X, nice). For a parry to activate, you have to press in the direction of the enemy the attack comes from. X being also the normal attack button, you can guess what happens quite often when the camera starts messing around. And sadly it does quite often. So especially when you're fighting more than one enemy, you'll do a lot of normal attacks instead of parrying. The demo only featuring cannon fodder, you can work around these flaws quite easily by just slicing apart everything before it can give you any trouble but I seriously have no clue what Platinum were thinking when they designed this double layered bullcrap control scheme and combined it with directional inputs in that extent, while the game features such an unreliable and iffy camera, which always gives you a friggin front view of Raiden after every single finisher, resulting in you losing track of your enemies. I just can't imagine this all working out satisfyingly with more potent enemies which most probably will exist in the finished game.
Even the slicing doesn't feel right thanks to the angle you intended for the attack getting more the often messed up when you let go of the right stick. And also thanks to the camera not being able to focus stuff correctly in certain situations...
I was seriously hoping for this to get as good as Bayonetta but they would have to change a lot for that to still happen. For example include a separate button for the evade slash and put the parrying on the right analogue stick, as was the case for parrying in Bayonetta. Thus they would at least get rid of all those stupid double layered inputs which already would help the game a lot in my opinion.
Not even started that year yet let alone near the end of it to say such things.
Like in january and people are screaming GOTY! GOTY! by march they forgot about it..

Oh yeah, I was just waiting for comments like this, since it's what you always read from fanboys or wannabe hardcore gamers. I have no problem getting an S rank at the demo though. Strange huh? Still doesn't change the the fact, that said problems exist.
Gameplay will deliver Im sure though.
Also everytime you run to an enemy and hold LT (to start the Katana slice mode + slow-mo) it pushes you back from the enemie's model and half of your attacks won't hit anymore...I hate that really.
