yea - the first and second game had some .... interesting moments, that just drove me nuts ... I'm weary even though I'm impressed again by the visuals on this one.

My guess is- this one rocks but has complaints about breaking old ground. The NEXT Motorstorm will jump the shark, maybe even really jump a shark (like a WaterStorm) and that one will tank for being a "jumping the shark" game, then we'll see Motorstorm "gritty" "back to it's roots" game for the PS4.

This is just my guess. I can't see where you go after racing through Desert, Tropical Island of All things, Snowy Tundra and now Big City... What would be next if not water sports? Space?

But this looks great- and as a long time MS fan, this is a day 1 buy for me.

If I was to buy a PS3, this would definitely be on the list of games to take home with it.

day one. loved the other's in the series, and i can't wait to play it n 3D. it's already an incredibly viceral racer. in 3D it's gonna be crazy.

I know it's a silly request/hope, but backwards compatibility with tracks and vehicles for these games would be fantastic. I feel like each entry introduces stuff that becomes absolutely vital, like the four player split screen and water cooling for boost of Pacific Rift. Still, each new entry has such a vastly different setting that really makes me miss having the PREVIOUS environments to play in with the newly introduced features.

If they could make some kind of insane ultimate Motorstorm edition with all the tracks/vehicles, in 3D, with four player split screen, online and the improved carreer mode, that'd be unfair to other racing games on the market, but it'd be spectacularly sweet.

it would be good. but it also makes the previous entries completely worthless if you have everything in a sequel. maybe a couple of favourites returning (for free, i've never liked the idea of paying for maps you already technically own), but to have everything, while great for the newcomers to the series, it also kills the game that came before it. LBP2 is an example of a game that has actually done that, and now i have a game on my shelf i will NEVER touch again. and it's likely to be worth a couple of quid if i every tried to sell it. LBP2 has devalued LBP....a motorstorm that has everything the past games have, would devalue the previous enteries imo.

fifa and madden are the same. it's why they always drop in value the fastest when a new one is released.

one of those things that sounds good on paper, but probably wouldnt be in practice.

Oh I absolutely agree, but at the same time I will never touch Motorstorm 1 again anyway. I love those tracks, but the shell they're wrapped in feels like some sort of prototype. Even the career progression in that game is absolute naff in retrospect.

I loved the first two games and Im sure this game will be a blast as well. IMO motorstorm is by far one of the most underrated franchises to come out of this gen of consoles. Graphically and fun factor it's a top notch product. The janky controls might not be for everyone but if you are patient enough to get the hang of this gem's controls you get well rewarded.

Yeah they're a bit wonky handling model wise. I think if you try to take these games too seriously they'll do your head in with their sometimes irratic collision detection and oddball friction.

i'd go with the second one...it has great racing environments and nice sense of speed...I loved the demo

especially playing on that track with a bike

the fact it combines those elements and remains the only game of it's kind is precisely why it IS something new.
