EA and DICE unleashed Battlefield 1943 on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN this week, and what a great game this is! Included is three maps from Battlefield 1942, with a fourth released probably next week. The last couple of days have mostly been about errors and problems for many of the players, with freezing, lag and server downtime. It has gotten better and better for each day though, with EA both doubling and now probably triple the amount of servers. I've had problem free sessions all day long so it seems like it works well now, at least in Europe. In short, to me Battlefield is still the game that produces the most fun shooting gameplay and 1943 continues with insanely fun hours to be had.

It's absolutely amazingly balanced (thank GOD for quicker kills), the size is perfect and all classes are super fun to play.
Thanks DICE.
Hope to see all the improvements/ tweaks make it into Bad Company 2.
Also the planes are usefull if someone capable is flying them. They can be a major annoyance and make you a lot of kills once you master them.
And the planes... Perfect feel, i find myself flying nonstop all the time lol. I just love doing strafing runs at ppl and dive bombing tanks ^_^
The best way to turn around quickly for another dive bombing run seems to be to pull off an immelman :=)
It feels like a mix of BC and 1942, but the maps to me are too big for only 24 people. I liked the map designs a lot better in BC.
Also limiting the classes down to 3 takes away a lot of variety and makes things border on too simple and gets boring.
Planes basically function just as they did in 1942. It makes me miss the bombers a lot.
also whoevers bitching that planes are too hard are stupid, inverse your stick, and walla, i can dogfight the shit out of the airspace now i swear i spend 90% of my time in the air, and as for damage, its spot on, i can rittle away boats with the guns, the bombs take a lot of practice because your speed influences where they hit very much and also the timing.
From the short time I've played it, 1943 is much better in that regard and I had more fun with it in half an hour than I did in BC.
The only thing they needed to take out of BC were recon grenades. It made recon too good.
The utter lack of variety in the infantry squad gameplay is killer though. Three classes, one of which is basically built for lone wolves, and none which fall into a support role. The lack of medics and support kits just makes the game a much duller experience. Unlimited ammo and regenerative health have exactly the effect on this game that all of the old timers feared it would.
Ultimately, I just hope these games have very little influence over the future of the Battlefield franchise, but this probably is the future of the franchise. Prove me wrong DICE.
To bad the video is not 629 Minutes long ;)
Just 6 mins :(
Put a nylon stocking over the tv or something, lol.
Heck you know what i like most about this game? That its bright. All the maps are sunny, clear and beautiful. No fucking night maps or rainy maps.
I guess devotees of the BC series will most likely think it's great though.

Plus it seems 99.9% of people on 360, of all places, don't even talk to get a strategy going... Instead you get silence and teammates destroying team vehicles and or taking them to fool around etc making it harder to win at times too many. Because of this trend, I only play with a party.
