I am loving the way damage is portrayed, some amazing reactions and ragdolls. Decent weapons as well, doesn't seem to be too OTT (save for that weapon at the end, but we don't see the effect of it... damn tease!)
Looks pretty amazing. One thing I don't get though. The interface shows to press 'E' to talk to someone, but the game is played with a controller. So this must be PC footage, and it supports controller, but the UI is not adjusted yet.
what makes you think that wasnt played with a mouse and keyboard?
One thing i kept thinking whilst watching that was wouldnt it be cool to see a batman game make use of this engine..
I saw teh vid again, that double barreled shotgun or what is known as "Super Shotgun" from Doom 2( I had to go and do some research :P) was so freaking cool looking and with an awesome killing feedback.
Also those exploding rounds from the other regular shotgun wer meaty as hell, I mean they explode in a cloud of gore(awesome shit).
That mind control arrow or whatever that was is insane too and could be very fun to use.
All in all I think this video proved this guys get gunplay like no other, animations, killing feedback is all there.
Hmm i wasn't interested really all that much in this but i'd be daft to not at least keep an eye on it. My problem is likely from how i found Doom 3 to be less than satisfying. Id delivered incredibly way back when Doom released and you take it they know the art of fps but it didn't feel that way with Doom 3
In truth the still massively fun original Dooms are fairly removed from your typical fps being they're arcade like to play. I'm not sure they've mastered this art fps art of today with any of their games though, but i'll be willing to at least give Rage a chance. It looks set to be polished, stunning, and unique
Need something after i sadly got rid of Crysis2. Good game though it was in the time i played it, but the challenge is so up and down that it hurts the experience even when playing at hardest setting. Some nice difficult spots at times coupled with parts you can either just stealth past or friendly ai kills enemy for you too often. Really enjoyed Crysis2 but its campaign is very unbalanced for me and seemingly untested in places regards to how easy it can be. And the AI being so stupid does eventually grate on you. Shame as there is so much to love about the game

Idsoft has been putting out alot of five minute long videos on RAGE, they are really trying to hype this game to the console gamers in the vain hope of selling like Assasins Creed 1 did way back when it sold 7 million out of nowhere for a mediocre subpar game. so no its not really that E3 2011 is giving out everything its more like game dev tools have also matured/advanced and videogames which on average take two to three years to develop (depending if its a new engine its longer) and they are all coming out now.
You also have to consider that Call of Duty has continually taken the holiday sales even from much higher quality and technological advanced games so basically as usual a game dev will always be like "hey look at meeeee"
I'm still not sold on this. I just can't shake the too-old-skool feeling. I need a demo to see if the game-play is actually fun. Aside from the hit reactions (awesome), I actually think the animation is kinda lame...
