PS3

I went to a Sony showroom in Paris, showcasing the PS3 launch line-up games of Sega. I took the time to grab some images of Virtua Fighters 5. The players seemed to lack some skill, but the game is as enjoyable to watch as ever. More videos to come if you behave...

Kool, it looks amazing. :)

Backgrounds are a bit boring, after playing DOA4 though.

Mortal kombat for past gen consoles has more to show in backrounds than this.graphics are good but not something special i have seen better engines.

This game looks amazing, I have a major soft-spot for fighting games and I just can't wait to get my hands on this!

I've been looking for this game for a long time. Here's hoping it's actually released Spring 2007! Although Hori or someone will have to come out with a wireless arcade controller for this....

virtua fighter needs to change, its as stale as tekken, sega need to evolve the fighting mechanics and make the levels free roaming and more interactive, both them and namco just pump out this sequels cause they know the llama fanboys will snap them up.

Actually you are wrong, people love VF because it has remained true to the series, and is considered the best beat’em up out there.

VF sells like crazy in Japan, I sure as hell don't want roaming levels either, the whole point of VF is to ring out your opponent.

The mechanics are always updated in one way or another in the VF series, but if you're not that big of a fan of teh games you probably wont notice.

As all the other developers out there you mean.

Guess that depends how clever you are.

VF5's system allows you to move around and sidestep easier, making ring outs easy to execute.

I pretty much agree with Jollipop - the game sells because it's so good... it has a h u g e following, and if it aint broke...

If people want a free roaming fighter they will go for DOA. But to be honest most dedicated fighters will at the very least sample as many as possible, and stick with their favourite...

Exactly. Fiddling with VF would be like making changes to chess.

Having VF5 in the PS3 library will certainly help shift systems...
