I know I say it as every damn Diaries comes out, but - hey ! It's been a long time since the last one ! Never again, we promise ! So, for this brand new Gamersyde Diaries, we've spent some quality time with the sharp-edged Dark Sector, Digital Extreme's Gears of War clone that went out yesterday in Europe and a few weeks earlier in the United-States. The day we shot the show there was heavy rain over Paris, so please don't make our troubles worthless and watch it - twice !
By the way, as a continuation to the subtle changes we've been working on since the last Diaries, we tried our best taking the fat out of the show and producing something a bit shorter but more dense - and more importantly, something that will be delivered twice a month from now on. So, see you in two weeks, and we hope you'll enjoy this one !

There is *zero* doubt that Gears was a big influence for DS, they even did the "CNN camera" exactly the same way, and the cover system is basically the same.
That doesn't make DS any less of a good game, but the influence is without any doubt there.
I beat it in like 2 days and then returned it back because I beat Normal and Brutal and then the online is bad and laggy and just plain boring, so there wasen't anything there for me.
If the game was longer, and they had "bonuses" after you complete the game like extra missions...etc. like RE4, then it would have some replay value.
I would say, rent it if you just want a good first experience, or just wait until the price goes down and then buy it, if you are still interested.
I give this game 7.5/10.
Short game, bad online, no replay value and bad story evolvement (even though I know much more than that)
But the good parts...Intense combat, brutal deaths, very fun glaive combats, great graphics, very good sound and music.
THX for the diary, looking forward for next one. :)

I don't really mind when it's a little bit longer though. It's not like I ever felt that the episodes were too long.
Plus, someone really needs to put this on TV instead of the nothingness we get in the UK.

No, seriously great stuff. I like your honest impressions and also the production of your diaries, quality stuff. Just hope the gaming industry recognizes this and you get more stuff pre release that'd be great.
I said all along that my I liked it for how it was, but my mind would change when I play it, and it partially did.
And no, I won't return to Dark Sector, unless they do a sequal which gotta be MUCH longer and better.
*just bring Ninja Gaiden 2 already damn it!*
I know you weren't being serious, but it scares me to think that people can't handle subtitles.
I'm 50% done this game and I have to say it's really poor. The level design is painfully boring and the game has clunky controls , glitches, and the glaive is under utilized for puzzles and combat.
Aside from the pretty graphics everything else screams mediocre or poor. I'd definitely recommend for people to rent this only, their is no replay value and no story. If you want a solid "dark" type game then pick up the Darkness it's better in every single way.
