Last week we got a chance to play Far Cry 4 for about four hours and to try both solo and co-op modes. Nice surprise when we got to the Parisian bar where the event was taking place, Ubisoft had made arrangements so we could use their capturing devices to bring back our own direct feed gameplay footage. Don't expect Gamersyde quality here as compression is pretty visible, but it's still nice to watch. Our full preview is on the French side but we've translated the conclusion for you guys.
Note: Preview videos were all captured on PS4.
Update: New official trailer 'Survive Kyrat' added.
Impressions
Far Cry 3 dared to make the proper changes to the series after a disappointing sequel to Crytek's game so it is no wonder to see that Far Cry 4 has been developed along the same lines. The game's structure hasn't changed much, with multiple sidequests that allow you to upgrade your gear and character, communication towers to hack and vehicles to drive, but the change of scenery makes it quite an appealing game to play in the end. Technically, the PS4 version is much more detailed than Far Cry 3 was on PC back then, with impressive lighting that makes the previous episode look rather bland in comparison. The mix between stealth and action still works very well despite a few AI issues we witnessed at times. The addition of a co-op mode is quite enjoyable, though we'll need to play a bit more to say if it has a true potential. That being said, being able to discover such a massive and gorgeous environment with a friend is not something we can say no to. The few new features (rock climbing, the Shangri-La world, elephant-riding, etc.) will hopefully be well implemented in the single player campaign so it becomes even more memorable than Far Cry 3's storyline. We have high expectations on the game's plot and we trruly hope it won't disappoint. Far Cry 4 may not be as surprising as the previous opus, it may look a little bit too familiar at times, but it should be quite a ride when it's released in November. Before you can book your ticket to Kyrat though, we'll need to see what the final game can really deliver. It should be soon enough, so stay tuned.

Still not sure about this game...AI always looks like it could do with a bit more work
If it runs as well as FC3 on PC it is surely worth buying!
even with the crappy quality capture this game still looks excellent to me so can not wait to get the final thing
I love the overall graphics, but that looks terrible. And the sad thing is, the PC version will have the same problem, because it is being ported by that awful Ukrainian studio, who have no idea what the word "optimize" means. A pity.

Previous comments: Of course the PC version will look the best, that's common sense. I don't see why the hate for the console version.
The pine trees are among the most realistically modeled and textured, not to mention with the spectacular rendering and shader caapabilities....yeah, i definitely love seeing top notch graphical effects in AAA titles. Hopefully the PC version is optimized, and has even more fluff than what is shown here.
Big difference, what you see is what you get this time.
Also you don't need to trust them: Just wait for some reviews instead of pre-ordering

Obviously there are new things in there, but nothing drastic. It looks to be a great sequel, but, despite really enjoying Far Cry 3, I am not dying to play more.
