Trailer PC Switch

Frenzied publisher Devolver brings us quietness and serenity with GRIS, a narrative platformer from Spanish developer Nomada Studio. Through gorgeous visuals from creative director Conrad Roset and music from Berlinist, players control the eponymous character, a young girl in pain whose despondent journey manifests through her dress. No danger nor death, an emotional journey with platforming, light puzzles, and optional challenges. The game is in development for PC and Switch and will release in December. GRIS EXPLORES THE BEAUTY OF SORROW LATER THIS YEAR

- Coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in December -

BARCELONA – Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital have announced GRIS, a serene and evocative narrative experience, for Nintendo Switch and PC later this year. Free of danger, frustration or death, players will explore a meticulous designed world brought to life with delicate art, detailed animation, and an elegant original score. Through the game light puzzles, platforming sequences, and optional skill-based challenges will reveal themselves as more of Gris’s world becomes accessible.

GRIS is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality. As the story unfolds, Gris will grow emotionally and see her world in a different way, revealing new paths to explore using her new abilities.

Based in Barcelona, Nomada Studio is composed of experienced developers and artists outside of video games with disciplines in illustration, painting, and graphic design. Featuring art from noted artist Conrad Roset and the music of Berlinist, GRIS is their debut title as a team.

GRIS will be playable at gamescom and PAX West later this month. Follow @nomadastudiobcn and visit nomada.studio for more news and information on the game.

Nice art direction and main theme. Cloak and scenery remind me of thatgamecompany's Journey and Alto's Odyssey for mobile.

El Shaddai? Because of blue-pink pastel color palette?

Damn, that looks very nice. I wish more devs would realize that this is the sort of diversity core gamers craze (rather than ZombieGameNext or 1stPersonShooterNext lol)

I dunno. I like games like this as something to play between proper games, but I don’t think i’m alone when I say I woundn’t want every game to be like this. Now, if you’re strictly talking a stronger focus on art than tech, yeah, I agree.

but the thing is most of the 'proper games' are just turning to sandboxy open world games that you have to invest a lot of time on if you wanna fully experience what the developers intended for the players and that just may be ok for younger players. I mean, how long does it take to finish AC:origin when I can only play the goddamn game 2 hours a week? i just gave up, the same happened with far cry 5
