Xbox 360

We had the surprise to find a playable version of Elveon in the MS booth, with a very early test level focused on combat. As I'm a nice guy, I'll just say that we'll keep our judgement for a more advanced build...

Nice find!
You can see the potential. The gameplay Cam sent me a bit dizzy though :/

Looks nice enough, seems the combat controls aren't suited for a quick demo though.

Plus using a lance/spear like that is never fun in a game, you want a nice sword or mace!

i agree. you better feel something when you hit the enemy. that was one of my vices of Oblivion. i wouldn't know if i was making contact. it needs more variation in combos.

It seems to me like you can't just go all out button mashing and each fight actually involves tactics. I can see the good sides to this as its different and rather unique, but wouldn't it start to get abit irritating if you have several enemies to kill at one time and there isnt really a lock on to keep track of 1 enemy? I could see my swinging many times at thin air and getting smacked over and over again ^_^

this sets the rumor out of the world that too human couldn't use the unreal engine for combat moves.. it looks quite nice in this techdemo... cant wait for this one

The camera view is good enough to see whats going on, but it turns quite a bit.
Other than that yea it looks good, but this is alittle bit to slow for my taste.
Though this is early build it looks good.

That looks interesting. I remember seeing the fight trailer a while back where they were touting the realistic combat. I can see that they've kept their word. Having the wrong weapon could easily spell defeat against enemies.

That level of realism is going to take a mind-shift to adapt to. I think gamers tend to think their characters are invincible and ANY weapon will do..:)

This is what I was hoping N3 would be like, more personal combat. Not swing your sword and kill millions of enemies. I like this game's combat system. Can't wait to see it when it's finished.

They definitely need some form of lock-on for the combat, Zelda style. Other than that though the combat looks great and very detailed. The enemies and yourself actually pull back when attacked, and it's cool to see such interaction where there usually is none.

Damn whoever was playing was not doing very well. Maybe that was like a knock back move not a real damaging move.

Looks great, except colors which are dull but this is probably because of the camera. Like fighting system, great framerate, lots of eye candy.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but why is there no sound in most of these videos?

Because these are being filmed in a big place with loads of background noise. Even though the SC:DA gameplay vid had sound, you couldn't hear the game very well anyway.

This is what i assume the reason is anyway.
