Well, I'm expecting a bit more than a linear walkthrough with some cool scripted scenes here and there from this game. But I should keep my expectations low, I guess, to avoid possible (and prediactable) disappointment.

That was the idea. She looked like a late teen before, now her face matches her age.

Game looks stunning tho, most anticipated 2013 release by a mile. Should mark the end of the generation with a bang.

The cut scenes look not too bad, but when you see game play it kind of looks like nothing we haven't seen already in other titles. (in terms of visuals and control mechanics.) It seems like other developers have already caught up.

looking at some of the game play a game like the new tomb raider doesn't stray too far.

For emotional post-apocalyptic games with dad and daughter type bonding, I think The Walking Dead has got me covered (episode 2 was amazing!).

I'm not sure I got the memo what sets this apart from other games, they haven't shown enough gameplay to see what they're going for other than reminding us how Naughty Dog develops its characters.

I don't think the two are in the same ballpark honestly, but I would have to play them both first. Don't get me wrong, I think the TR reboot looks very good, but I lose more interest with the more they show. It now seems to be VERY linear, scripted, and filled with QTE's and semi interactive gameplay to go along with the tons of cutscenes. All the gameplay they have shown makes it look like either a semi interactive movie, or a corridor shooter.

Compare that to The last of Us, which is "supposedly" very dynamic, open, and interactive. Different ways to tackle situations, many different reactions from the characters and enemies dependent on the situations. I realize that is more of a preference thing, but that's just my 2 cents. That and if you take past title quality into account, I'd put my $ on Naughty Dog over Crystal Dynamics....

I like what I see.
The characters feel much more human than what Nathan Drake ever did, which makes me care for them a lot more, well done ND!
Now that I'm hyped, I'm also afraid that it might not live up to my high expectations. (Looking at you Uncharted 3)

I can't wait until they show the shroombies! I wanna know how the combat will differ from fighting the human characters. I also feel like they're showing too much for it to come out holiday 2013.

I don't want them to show the infected at all. I think it should be something every player discovers themselves, would make them way more surprising/scary. And would put you on edge, cos you know they will show up at some point, you just don't know when, or in what capacity. Will they be individual encounters and really strong? Cannon fodder? Hunt in pairs? Packs? Hordes. Things are scarier when your mind is alowed to wonder.

I did not think Uncharted 2 could be beaten on the PS3...this however has the potential to more than any other game. Roll on it's release.
