I really, really wish this is some of those games that look terrible in screens and decent in motion. You almost could put those screens in a Encyclopedia with the subtitle: Exemple of a downgrade, people.

well definatly looks better graphically than the first. I just get the feeling it's going to lose some of its soul with it's efferts to streamline...much like Mass effect 2 did.

No dont get me wrong, ME2 is one of the best games i've played this year..but it was soiled by removing the deep customisation of weapons and armour that i loved in the first. That removed any need of a hording aspect that i always end up so addicted to in RPG's. I can see this going the same way.

HEELLLL NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

this was an exelent old school rpg.
dont want no hack and slash rpg or something near it.
but because of baby'(mainstream gamers) that thought it was to hard or not cool enough because it aint realtime, they are gonna downgrade it T_T.

wel yeah to late already, ever sinds 1998 it been rather fucked up for true gamers (people who were called nerds in those day)

Are you mad or something?

I still don't understand how they want to make the graphics better. DA on 360 had already lower-res textures than its PC version.

Why shouldn't he be? This is the definition of dumbed down right here. Oh, right, but consoles are bringing PC gamers better experiences, I forgot (/sarcmark).

Yeah i think the combat was actually quite good in Dragon Age. At least on the PC. It wasn't fucking Ninja Gaiden Knights and Dragons Edition, but it was never meant to be, it was supposed to be a pen annd paper style RPG, which it was. And it was good as well. Adding action oriented combat won't make it better, just different and pulling it further away from what it does well and what the fans want. If they are changing it up, why not go the whole way and just add that Manson soundtrack right in there, bound to give the sales a boost.

this looks like ass, but then so did the first so it's hardly surprising. thankfully the game itself is incredibly imersive, deep and fun.

But why do they do this? GOW2 is a great example of how much you can squeeze out of 360 without having to make games look like what we see in these shots.

STFU. Seriously. PLay the game on a console, then on a PC. If your only option is console, you have to like the HELL out of pretty much everything in the first game to ignore how torturous the controls and things were. AND they pretty much did as good of a job as they could making em work on the consoles.
Bioware has said that the PC version will stick to it's roots, gameplay wise, and stay much more old school. They realized that the console and the PC versions shouldn't be identical with different control schemes and a few other small tweeks. And they are doing less streamlining in the depth aspect and more in the clunkiness aspect. So they will work on movement, on speed of combat, on the way movement works within combat, maybe making skills easier to use. To say that they are "dumbing down" this game is stupid. If you would read up a bit on the game you would know that the game will still be available to gamers as the best package you can get on either of it's platforms. If you want to play the more hardcore version of the game, play the PC version. I'm sure it'll be easy to run on modest hardware, and it will be more than worth the wait.

I support their decision to change the approach for the console version because, in my opinion, the first game simply didn't work well on the 360 or PS3.

But that shouldn't seep into the PC version. Definitely not.

I really hope that they do not attempt some actiony real time combat system for this, if anything i hope that they make it even more slow paced and strategic, a free camera on the ability to queue moves would be great.

Really? I played it for 300 hours or so on the 360 and had no problems with it aside from some minor camera and interface issues.

Like I said, in my opinion. I have it for the 360 and just couldn't get into it; that type of gameplay just doesn't work on consoles.

Well i heard the game was dumbed down on the 360 and PS3 to be playable and i'm fully willing to believe that as the PC interface would not translate well to a pad if you ask me.

it was dumbed down (both in terms of interface and difficulty) but it felt a lot more like mass effect because of it. which imo, is a good thing. from what i played and saw of the Pc version. it seemed a LOT more tactical, with a lot more micromanagment. i didnt feel up for that and just wanted to hack my way through, in the same way i wanted to just blast my way through mass effect. i guess it just felt more like a console bioware game (KOTOR, jade empire, mass effect) it fit in well with them, even if it was dumbed down

I guess my beef with that is that story and presentation didn't feel on par with ME or KotOR and so i imagine that if you dumb the combat down a lot of the game is lost. But well, whatever floats your boat i guess.

i thought the story was better then ME2 personally. a lot more indepth concerning the characters and the interaction with them. basically, and as with all bioware games. it's the story that keeps me going. the rest is largely forgetable. but at least they kept consistant with the way dragon age played on consoles compared to their other games.

Yeah... Real time combat will probably be more in line with something like Oblivion than something like Devil May Cry.
