Video PS4

We discovered last night as the showfloor was closing that Journey was playable at Sony's booth. We went this morning and recorded this rather sweet looking 1080 60fps video.

Why are games that only came out recently being rereleased or moneyhashed? I understand if its an aniversary or something. But cmon devs. Work on New games. Is that to much to ask when we spend 300 pound plus on new machines?

Pretty good stocking filler though. Although really short.

I'd like to point out that, this supports Cross-Buy. If you own the PS3 version, you get the PS4 version for FREE :)

But its the same game. Make a new one instead. If it has to be an indie, let's at least make a new one? Waste of dev time. It's not like its an anniversary edition of uncharted. That is understand. I'd be annoyed if I bought ps4. It's rehashes and Indies. And rehashes of Indies.

Porting old games is a great way for studios to learn the new hardware. Also just because they're porting old games doesn't mean they aren't working on new games too. Infact it would be ridiculous to think they weren't.

It's not a remake it's a port. And what's wrong with it?

What's wrong with it is the ps4 is lacking in exclusives right now. It has some stocking fillers, but no reason to buy it in its first 18 months. Bring the games for gods sake. New ones. Microsoft are.

If it's cross-buy, then it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I don't have a problem with upscaled, prettier remakes--I bought plenty on the PS3. But I bought them for $15-20 or in bundles of 3-5 games for $40-50. My real problem with it on current gen consoles is how they're selling them for $50 a pop, despite not adding much of substance to the new versions and the old ones going for as low as $5 during sales. Hell, Tomb Raider was free on PS+ around the same time the Definitive Edition came out.

The Master Chief Collection, though? THAT'S something I'd have no problem paying $60 for.

I do agree. Something like uncharted 1-3 with all multiplayer maps, uc4 beta and upgraded visuals would be fine. But tlou, journey etc is insulting. Many gamers threw mud at Microsoft for DRM etc. Including me. Bu since Phil spencers been at the head they have done awesome. Great new exclusives, not rehashes. And the halo mcc is the best thing I've ever seen a game company do for fans in the industry ever. On top of that the halo channel. Microsoft stumble on the reveal but since have been way better in the games department in its first 18 months.

Praise where its due. Sony need to pull their finger out gameswise. They are coming. But there's not many non indie games and they are quite far away for the good ones.

My friend works at game. And he said they are recieving a lot of ps4 preowned lately. Because average Joe doesn't care for stocking fillers and games they already played less than a year ago.

Journey has a timeless artstyle so it works for PS3 or PS4. If people didn't get a chance to play these games on PS3 or didn't have a PS3 and now have a PS4 then they won't miss out. A few pre-owned PS4 returning to one game store doesn't spell doom for Sony who've just past 10million console unit sales. If you don't like it, don't buy it, simple as, indie games are as valid as big budget studio games which aren't exactly anything new when you look at the majority of them.

Theres nothing wrong with indie games. They are like gp2 before the main event f1. Like stocking fillers before the presents under the tree. The starter before a main course. Lets not sugar coat this. Im all for people playing what they havent, but a £359.99 machine for last years stockin fillers and games?

Im not prepared to let sony off to appease the fans. Ive been critical of microsoft and nintendo when theyve been lazy before.

Need to remember it's not Sony developing everyones games, if people delay or take too long then that isn't their fault. Fans called out for Sony to develop a PS4 version of Journey and they delivered, and if you already own the game, you get the PS4 version for free.

"They are like gp2 before the main event f1" lol, no. Most indie games are a crap load more innovative, substantial and interesting compared to the endless sequels large publishers put out which barely do any of those things. For example, Call of Duty: MW 3, which cost around 35 bucks at the time, only took me 4 hours to complete on Hard Mode and it never did anything new. I could spend the same amount of money on a handful of indie titles that give me something new to play and hold my interest. The big "blockbusters" aren't the be all end all of gaming and shouldn't be classed as "stocking fillers".

Granted not all blockbusters are everyone's cuppa, but you have to agree you'd prefer new indie games of equal quality that you haven't played before, over a game you finished to death. I know I would.

There's to much rereleasing this gen. Especially games that aren't that old.

It's a fair critique, but I just don't see what it has to do with this & other games being ported over. It's not as if they put the development of new games on pause to release these titles.

They also need to pack out their catalog as quickly as possible so pooing out some ports is a good way to do it & gives them some titles for PS+ too.

Oh boy, 'Microsoft are' you say.... tell me what exclusive games are worth owning the platform for. And don't forget whilst Microsoft were busy giving up on last gen Sony was still releasing big hitters like the last of us, beyond 2 souls, gran turismo 6, GOWA and that ratchet game. These are all teams that could have released next gen exclusives but were catering for existing gen gamers.

The question you must ask yourself is that if Sony have a much stronger array of developers then how and why are Microsoft currently able to announce more exclusives, you'll quickly find that the answers bring a smile to your face. Put it this way few companies are wealthy enough to just sit doing nothing, knowing this there must be a plethora of unannounced games eager to see the light of day for Sony in the mean time you'll need to be patient.

Yet Sony outsells Microsoft by a huge margin. Hmm, why could that be? :P
