Here are we back to our hotel after the Microsoft community event where quite a few games were demoed. Let's start with Gears of War 3 and this quite nice gameplay sequence played by Mike Capps.
Wow this game looks exceptional. Much more natural looking, better lighting, better shadows, smooth geometry for the character models.. looks like a completely new engine even if it isn't. Maybe the best looking console game I've seen so far. After doing without one for several months I'm so glad I repurchased a 360 recently.

Its looks better for sure, and gears2 already looked amaizing.

Not that I think Crysis 2 is less stereotypic, but at least Uncharted is just sporting a creativity and playfulness with the media that both Crysis and Gears just doesn't have.

Jesus, a "ps3 owner" saying that a game might be tecnicaly better than uncharted...thats just wrong, did I woke up in a diferent universe where people are reasonable

amazing what you can do when you put in shoddy AI and shoddy animation..
Hell the ai in Halo:CE is better than the gears of war "whack a mole"
texture wise and the architecture is fantastic, character models are lovelly, but in chaos, it just turns to shit.. well shit been a bit harsh.

Hehe, yeah - I know that is unthinkable
But actually I also own a X360. I played the first Gears through but skipped the second. I 'might' get Gears3 if the reviews are stellar.
Sad that they've been sitting on this game for 2 years now... Looks great, but its been done and delayed for 2 years...MS has only this as it's exclusive.
It's a fair point though if you examine both games and how their combat differs. Gears can feel whack a mole at times - Gears2 address this a little i think i'm right in saying. I like how Gears feels when you're impacting your rounds on enemy and i'd say the game has more punch overall like this- a bit like how Halo1 also has that. Gears has something i just like very much about the combat, but it would be a lie to say it's as accompished as Halo games in some areas- most games don't tend to be actually
Halo games are generally more dynamic resulting in a more sophisticated action i think. I like them both though for different reasons
I've been playing a lot of ODST lately and it now ranks as my second fave in the series. It's was always a good albeit disapointing game but i'm now seeing it for something much better than that
